Hot, dry and unstable conditions will continue today, with highs in the 90s to around 105 and afternoon humidity into the teens. A low level jet over eastern MT bringing gusty winds to the higher hills and ridges will continue into the morning hours. These winds will begin to mix down to the lower elevations around 0800 MDT. An initial wind shift to the northwest is expected Wednesday afternoon, with a main frontal passage Wednesday evening/night. Winds will be breeziest over southern portions of Zone 123 this afternoon, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect there. Isolated showers and mainly dry thunderstorms are possible during the late afternoon and evening for portions of the area. Gusty winds will accompany thunderstorms. Conditions trend cooler for Thursday behind the front and continue through the remainder of the week with highs in the 70s and 80s.
