...THE GROWING SEASON HAS ENDED FOR JEFFERSON, LEWIS, CATTARAUGUS, AND
   ALLEGANY COUNTIES...

The end of the seasonal frost/freeze program is roughly 10 days beyond the
climatological median first fall freeze date.

During the defined growing season, NWS Buffalo issues frost and freeze
headlines as needed. Once the end date of the climatologically defined
growing season is reached, frost and freeze headlines will no longer be
issued for that climatological area.

The growing season has ended in the following counties. In New York,
Jefferson, Lewis, Cattaraugus, and Allegany.

NWS Buffalo will no longer issue FREEZE WARNINGS or FROST ADVISORIES for
these counties this year.

Persons are encouraged to follow local forecasts and take preventative
actions from a frost or a freeze when low temperatures are forecast to be
in the mid 30s or colder.

Frost and freeze products will resume for these counties in Spring 2026.
