Temperatures have risen well above freezing, ending the threat for
ice accumulation. Caution remains advised as untreated surfaces may
still be icy.

...ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Significant icing expected. Total ice accumulations between
  four and seven tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph,
  but up to 50 mph in the Saint Lawrence Valley this afternoon.

* WHERE...Portions of northern New York and eastern Vermont.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree
  limbs may cause scattered power outages. Travel could be nearly
  impossible, especially this morning`s commute. Gusty winds
  starting this afternoon will further increase the risk of power
  outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Most of the ice accumulation will occur
  through 10 AM. Temperatures will quickly fall later in the day as
  gusty winds develop, which may cause additional power outages
  through tomorrow morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Storm total ice accumulations
  generally between two and four tenths of an inch.

* WHERE...Champlain Valley and portions of northeastern Vermont.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Isolated power outages and tree damage will be possible
  due to the ice. Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous
  conditions will impact this morning`s commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...After temperatures rise above freezing,
  sharply colder conditions, scattered snow showers, and gusty winds
  will occur late today into tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. For the latest on road

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
