.DISCUSSION...
Dry weather will prevail through today. Relative humidities will
drop quickly this morning and early afternoon, bottoming out
around 40 percent. While unlikely, if winds gain a westerly
component off the Adirondacks this afternoon, relative humidities
could briefly drop well into the 30s. They will rebound quickly in
the evening. Winds will increase during the day today and stay
elevated through tomorrow. Southerly winds in the 10 to 15 mph
range are expected today, with gusts generally up to 20 mph. Any
exposed locations could see locally higher gusts. Gusts will be a
little higher late tonight through tomorrow, reaching the 20 to 25
mph range. Winds will be southerly for most of today and
tomorrow, though they may veer southeasterly a bit this afternoon
due to a lake breeze. Showers will arrive late tonight and there
will be scattered on and off showers through tomorrow night. Total
rain amounts through tomorrow night look to be between a third
and a half of an inch, but with the scattered nature of the
heaviest showers, a wetting rain is not completely certain. Today
will start off mostly sunny, but clouds will increase toward the
afternoon, though many of them will be high and thin.
