.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will prevail today across the prescribed burn area,
resulting in plenty of sunshine and light mainly terrain driven
winds under 10 mph. However, during maximum heating this afternoon
minimum humidities will fall to around 20% with temperatures warming
into the upper 60s. Clouds will quickly increase this evening with
scattered to numerous showers arriving toward midnight. As moisture
arrives humidity levels will quickly recovery. The greatest period
of rain showers will occur between midnight tonight and 10 AM Friday with
total precipitation amounts of 1 to 2 tenths of an inch. Additional
scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms are possible again
on Friday afternoon, but wetting rainfall will be spotty. Humidities
will be much higher on Friday with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures
near 70. South to southwest winds increase 8 to 14 mph
with localized gusts 14 to 18 mph in aligned terrain features and
exposed midslopes and ridges. The probability of thunder increases to
30% by 4 PM on Friday afternoon with likely probability (60-70%)
of rain showers.
