627 FNUS51 KBTV 191845 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 245 PM EDT Sat Apr 19 2025 ...Showers Exiting Tonight, Then Dry Sunday... .DISCUSSION... Showers and storms will redevelop this afternoon followed by a cold front sweeping south overnight. Between activity this morning and the remaining precipitation this afternoon, areas north will have received a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain, while south-central Vermont will have received about 0.05 to 0.15". No fire weather concerns are expected due to clouds and precipitation today. For Sunday, clearing skies are expected with a cold northwest wind. Temperatures will climb into the upper 40s to mid 50s during the afternoon with wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph. Dry air will result in relative humidity values falling below 30 percent between noon and 2 PM. Minimum relative humidity values are expected to fall to 20 to 25 percent, locally into the teens. Recent rainfall and high elevation snowmelt will likely prevent any fire weather concerns from developing, despite the dry, gusty conditions.
