...Dry Weather Expected Through the Weekend...
.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will begin to build in today behind yesterdays cold
front with cooler and drier conditions settling in for the
weekend. This afternoons RH values will likely stay above critical
thresholds but will still drop to around 35-45%, particularly in
the St. Lawrence and Champlain Valleys. Winds will be northerly at
5-10 mph with some gusts up to 15 mph in the Champlain Valley
from channeled flow. If we end up mixing deeper on Saturday, we
could see a few locations drop to 25-30% in the afternoon. Winds
should overall be pretty light Saturday with the high pressure
anchored overhead however. This prolonged dry spell could lead to
potential fire weather concerns as we head into next week.
