002 FNUS51 KBTV 051740 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 140 PM EDT Sun Oct 5 2025 ...Near Critical Fire Weather Monday and Tuesday... .DISCUSSION... Dry conditions will persist through Monday night. Relative humidities will be the lowest on Monday, with minimum values generally between 30-35 percent range. However, localized areas will see values in the upper 20s, particularly in the Connecticut River Valley. Most places will see southerly to southwesterly gusts in the 10-20 mph range. However, gusts up to 30 mph are possible in the St. Lawrence Valley. An area of rain moves through from northwest to southeast on Tuesday and is expected to easily produce a wetting rain. Before that, relative humidities will be a little higher than Monday, but winds will be stronger. Northern New York should see rain early enough that relative humidities stay above 40 percent. However, parts of Vermont will likely see them fall well into the 30s. Southerly to southwesterly winds are expected to gust between 20 to 30 mph, with the highest values across northern New York and the Champlain Valley.
