...A Couple of Dry Days, Then Wetting Rain Monday Night...
.DISCUSSION...
Skies are on track clear areawide today with a cold northwest
wind in place. Temperatures will climb into the upper 40s to mid
50s during the afternoon along with wind gusts of 15 to 25 mph, or
25 to 35 mph in eastern portions of Vermont. Dry air will result
in relative humidity values below 30 percent this afternoon,
bottoming out between 3 and 5 PM for most locations. Recent
rainfall and high elevation snowmelt will likely prevent any fire
weather concerns from developing, despite the dry, gusty
conditions. Perhaps localized spots in eastern Essex County, New
York, and south central Vermont that missed out on significant
rain yesterday will need to be watched.
For tomorrow, even lower relative humidity values are expected,
particularly in Vermont, although winds will be below critical
levels. Sharply greater humidity will arrive from west to east
towards tomorrow evening as rain showers overspread the region
again.
