...Dry Conditions Continue through Mid-week; Near Critical Values

.DISCUSSION...
Persistent dry conditions will continue into next week as high
pressure remains firmly in place over the region. Relative
humidity values this morning recovered fairly well back into the
70-90% range, but are expected to return to near critical values
this afternoon. RH values in the St. Lawrence, Connecticut, and
Champlain Valleys will bottom out in the 30-40% range, and with
any further mixing, could see RH values briefly as low as 25-30%,
which was already seen yesterday. Similar RH recovery is
anticipated tonight, if not better as extra moisture filters in
from the south. Southwesterly winds will remain fairly light in
the 5 to 10 mph range in the valleys and near 15 to 20 in the
higher terrain as a weak low-level jet rides near mountain summit
level. Winds will switch to the north by Monday.
