.DISCUSSION...
Relative humidities today will remain in the 40-50% range this
afternoon, however, winds are weakening to light and variable
which will limit any fire weather concerns today. Localized lower
RHs to 35% will be possible in the St. Lawrence as they will see
better mixing. Tomorrow will bring fire weather concerns for
southern Vermont as a coastal low with an associated low level jet
moves north into the region. Easterly winds could gust up to 25
mph with localized gusts to 30 mph on the western slopes of the
southern Greens. Winds will be maximized around noon time
tomorrow. Relative humidities will be in the 45-55% with localized
40% in the nearby western valleys of the southern Greens from
downsloping influences. Breezy easterly winds will continue with
downsloping off the western slopes Sunday evening, however,
precipitation associated with the low will accompany these winds
beginning Sunday night which should mitigate any fire weather
concern heading into Monday. Wetting rain between 0.5-1" is
expected in southern Vermont by Monday afternoon, with up to 0.25
inches in the Adirondacks and central Vermont. Much drier
conditions are expected near the international border and the St.
Lawrence Valley.
