.DISCUSSION...
An area of showers associated with a cold front will cross the
region from northwest to southeast on Tuesday and will easily
produce a wetting rain. Ahead of the showers, Tuesday`s relative
humidity values will be a little higher than Monday, but gusty
south to southwest winds are expected to be more widespread,
gusting 20 to 30 mph, with the highest values across northern New
York and the Champlain Valley. Northern New York should see rain
early enough that relative humidities stay above 40 percent.
However, parts of Vermont will likely see them fall into the 30s.
Total rainfall amounts Tuesday and Tuesday night are expected to
range from two-thirds of an inch in far southeastern Vermont up to
1.25 inch over much of northern New York and northern Vermont.
Locally higher amounts are possible. Gusts will again be in the 15
to 25 mph range Wednesday but relative humidities will generally
stay above 40 percent. Winds will be northerly and northwesterly
Wednesday.
