112 FNUS51 KBTV 091945 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 245 PM EST Sat Nov 9 2024 ...Winds Abating And Dry Until A Warm Front Sunday Night... .DISCUSSION... Winds are subsiding after gusting up to 20-25 mph much of the day. The center of a strong 1032mb high is almost overhead, and as the sun sets, winds will quickly calm. Radiational cooling should promote modest recoveries tonight with relative humidity values around 75 to 85 percent overnight, except over regions above 3000 feet in elevation. For Sunday, another dry day is expected. The St. Lawrence Valley is likely to remain at or above 40 percent, but areas east will likely fall between 30 to 35 percent. Fortunately, winds will mainly be about 5 to 10 mph at the surface, and as south winds increase, so will the relative humidities. Light winds and filtered sunlight should preclude fire weather concerns, but low humidity values will likely keep fine fuels receptive to burning. A warm front and a series of low pressure systems will bring some rain to the region. Between Sunday night and Tuesday, about 0.10-0.33" is most likely.
