.DISCUSSION...
We will continue to see showers and thunderstorms this afternoon across
the high terrain of northern New York and Vermont. Some of these storms
have dropped upwards of a half of an inch of rain with the storms
largely staying across the higher terrain due to the lack of winds aloft.
After today, it`s going to be hard to buy a rain drop as high pressure
builds overhead with the next chance of rain not expected until the middle
of next week at the earliest. In addition, warming temperatures are
expected with highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s possible most days during
that timeframe. Afternoon RH values over the next few days will bottom
out around 40% but the extended dry period may yield some critically
low RH values by next week. Winds will be light for the most part
under high pressure although some stronger winds may be seen briefly at
times in the Champlain Valley.
