.DISCUSSION...
High pressure and ample sunshine beneath a dry air mass will
result in minimum relative humidities in the 35 to 45 percent
range this afternoon. Much of the region received wetting rain on
Friday and winds will mainly be between 5 to 10 mph out of the
south or southwest today. Fire weather concerns are not expected.
On Sunday, hot weather is expected as temperatures rise into the
upper 80s to mid 90s. More humid air will shift overhead, though.
Modest overnight recoveries will result in max relative humidity
at or above 70 percent. Afternoon minimum relative humidity values
will likely remain at or above 40 percent. Wind speeds are
expected to be higher, especially over the St. Lawrence Valley.
Southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph are expected over the region, with
gusts up to 30 mph possible in the St. Lawrence Valley. Isolated
to scattered showers and storms will be possible Sunday afternoon
and overnight. A cold front will shift south during the day on
Monday.
