...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Vermont, including the following
  counties, Caledonia and Essex.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all
  the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems
  in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 652 PM EDT, Emergency management has reported numerous
    roads flooded and washed out in the warned area due to
    thunderstorms. Rainfall has tapered off but flooding
    continues. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen due to
    the thunderstorms earlier in the day.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lyndon, West Burke Village, Sutton, Burke, Newark Hollow,
    Newark, Sheffield, East Haven, Wheelock, Ferdinand, West
    Burke and Burke Hollow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
