The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  East central Cameron County in Deep South Texas...

* Until 230 AM CDT.

* At 205 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Port Isabel City Hall, or near South Padre Island,
  moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Port Isabel Fire And Police Department, South Padre Island Birding
  Center, Port Isabel City Hall, South Padre Island, South Padre
  Island Convention Center, South Padre Island Police Department,
  Port Isabel Lighthouse, Washington Park, U.s. Coast Guard Station,
  and Garria Elementary School around 210 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Port
Isabel--Laguna Heights and Port Isabel Library.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

This cluster of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and
widespread significant wind damage. Do not wait to see or hear the
tornado. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest
floor of a building.
