...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CST THIS MORNING...
...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as
  29 expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
  as low as 25 expected.

* WHERE...Brooks, Jim Hogg, and Zapata Counties.

* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, until 8 AM CST this morning. For
  the Cold Weather Advisory, until 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged
  exposure. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with
  prolonged exposure. Take steps now to finish protecting cold
  sensitive plants and crops. Frost and freeze conditions could
  damage crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage
  unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Sensitive outdoor plants may be damaged by frost if left uncovered.
