...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following
  counties, Cameron and Willacy.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 550 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Harlingen, Raymondville, Santa Rosa, Lyford, Rio Hondo,
    Arroyo City, Sebastian, Primera, Combes, San Perlita, Santa
    Monica, Porfirio, Willamar, Rio Hondo Elementary School, Rio
    Hondo High School, Rio Hondo Junior High School, Rio Hondo
    City Hall, Valley International Airport, San Perlita High
    School and Marine Military Academy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
