Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Brownsville TX
1046 PM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025

...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE...

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Sunday night)
Issued at 1027 PM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025

High pressure across the Gulf continues to build through the
weekend, as the mid-level ridge settles back across the Desert SW
and above normal moisture works back into Deep South Texas. Low
rain chances, below 25 percent, return Saturday from north to
south, mainly across the ranchlands, and Sunday along the sea
breeze. Expect slightly below normal highs and near normal lows.
The increased humidity drives a Moderate (level 2 of 4) Heat Risk
both Saturday and Sunday. Southeasterly winds may once again gust
towards 30 mph Saturday afternoon and 25 mph Sunday. Will hold
a moderate risk of rip currents another day along the lower Texas
coast.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday through next Saturday)
Issued at 1027 PM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025

Low level moisture continues rain chances, mainly along the sea
breeze Monday and Tuesday, with the highest POPs still generally
less than 25 percent on Monday and Tuesday. Drier air arrives by
mid-late week as high pressure builds again, cutting down rain
chances further. Expect near to slightly below normal
temperatures through mid week, with slightly above normal
temperatures by late week. Minor (level 1 of 4) to Moderate (level
2 of 4) Heat Risk is expected daily.

Craft Caution conditions continue through Saturday, mainly across
the bay due to gusty winds. Isolated showers and thunderstorms
offshore return Saturday into Wednesday.
