.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1224 PM CDT Sat Jul 12 2025

High pressure over the Gulf will begin to expand westward as we head
through the weekend into early next week. Chances for rainfall remain
under 10% today and Sunday. Monday a surface trough will move
into central Texas bringing a slightly better chance of rainfall
(around 15%) in the afternoon across portions of the northern
Ranchlands. Otherwise, high pressure over the region will maintain
dry conditions outside of an isolated seabreeze shower or
thunderstorm, though chances remain under 10%.

Breezy conditions will continue to with gusts up to 30 mph today and
between 20 and 25 mph for much the Valley and along the coast
through next week.

Temperatures will remain warm through the period with highs in the
mid to upper 90s and heat indices between 100-110 degrees. Heat Risk
will remain Moderate across much of Deep South Texas and the Rio
Grande Valley into next week. If spending a prolonged period of time
outdoors, remember to practice heat safety to prevent heat-related
illnesses.

A moderate risk of rip currents will prevail along area beaches
through Sunday. Be careful if venturing into the water and remember
rip currents are highest near piers and jetties.
