Spot Forecast for Great Swamp RX...RI DEM
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
314 AM EDT Thu Oct 2 2025

Forecast is based on ignition time of 0800 EDT on October 02.
If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National
Weather Service.

.DISCUSSION...
Sunny and dry weather conditions are again expected for today with
governing high pressure in control. The primary changes in the
spot weather forecast for today compared to yesterday are that
northeast winds will be steadily decreasing, starting out around
10 mph at ignition time. Given that the site is sheltered from
northeast winds, the northeast wind speeds shown in the spot
forecast could be an overestimate. Winds will also become light
easterly by late in the day, which could allow for some added
moisture late in the day off adjacent Warden Pond. With a
deepening mixing depth, dewpoints should mix lower, with RHs
falling to around 35 to 40 percent given cooler high temps in the
low to mid 60s. Weak northerly transport winds will likely limit
smoke transport.
