Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
408 AM EDT Tue Sep 1 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Widespread showers with embedded thunder overspread southern New
England late tonight into Tuesday morning. Unsettled weather
persists through late week with additional rounds of showers and
thunderstorms.

Humid conditions this week with MinRH between 70 and 90 percent
Tuesday-Thursady.

.Outlook...Tuesday Night through Sunday...

An active pattern with unsettled weather at times in the Tuesday
night through Thursday time frame. Timing the greatest risk for
showers remains difficult at this point. However, the greatest
risk during this portion of the forecast for showers and
thunderstorms appears to be later Wednesday into part of
Thursday. The timing though may need to be refined.

Spotty diurnal showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday and
Saturday. Drier weather is more likely for Sunday.
