Fog seems to be coming in an out of Denver, and it`s been a bear
to track because there is a mid level cloud deck as well, so
GOES-E can`t detect it. It`s also highly localized, not really
visible on area webcams that are just 4-6 miles from DEN. High res
models show 1/2 to 3/4 SM fog/BR at DEN off and on through the
early morning hours, but prevailing should remain 2SM or better.
We will continue to handle with a tempo group since it is expected
to continue being flaky tonight into early tomorrow. Drizzle or
light rain should improve surface VIS if and when it moves in,
and it will be light.
Expect MVFR conditions at all the terminals
through all of tomorrow with plenty of moisture hanging around in
the lowest 10 kft. We do not expect fog at APA or BJC tonight or
tomorrow, but certainly CIG/VIS will at times be at the lower end
of MVFR.
Winds will not be a problem through the period with light
northerly winds tonight and through Friday at all terminals.
Speeds should be less than 10 kts and for the most part they
should remain between 320 and 040 deg. Visuals are expected to
return Friday evening, but probably not until after 01Z.

MVFR conditions will continue at all three terminals with brief
IFR conditions possible at times under heavier snow showers at
KALS. Gradual improvement can be expected after 08-10z as
showers come to an end, though KALS will likely see a round of
IFR to LIFR cigs and fog during the early morning hours.
Otherwise, expect improving conditions through the mid to late
morning with a return to VFR by afternoon. -KT

from west to east. Showers will hang on the longest at the

by 21z tomorrow afternoon. Winds will be light and variable
across the region. KASE, KEGE, and KRIL will remain at or below
ILS breakpoints through at least 18z tomorrow, and will often
see MVFR to IFR conditions, especially KASE. Likewise, KTEX will
remain under IFR to LIFR conditions through at least 12z, then
will see periods of MVFR to IFR conditions. Remaining terminals
will see VFR conditions prevail, but will see periods below ILS
breakpoints due to low ceilings. Mountain obscuration will be an
issue through the period.

.AVIATION...KSLC...Scattered rain showers in the area will largely
diminish by 00z, with brief periods of MVFR VIS and mountain
obscuration possible. Northwest winds will lighten through the
evening and become primarily southeasterly or even light and VRB by
04-05z. There is a heightened chance for dense fog development
overnight and into the early morning hours, with a least low-end
MVFR conditions expected to develop (70% chance of MVFR or less
between 09-15z). Dense fog development will depend on how much mid-
to high-level clouds scatter out overnight. Currently, expect a 40%
chance of dense fog/LIFR conditions, with the best chances between
11-15z.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Scattered showers will
gradually diminish by 03z in most areas, though areas between KEVW-
KHCR may see lingering showers through 07z. Winds will be fairly
light and variable overnight, and coupled with recent precipitation
and breaks in the clouds developing overnight, this will produce
areas of dense fog/LIFR conditions across many valleys overnight
(particular N-UT/SW-WY). This is dependent on how much clouds are
able to scatter out, as clearer skies will likely result in more
widespread fog for a longer duration.

Moisture is slightly more limited tonight versus last night,
which will limit fog formation. Most TAF sites will see minimal
fog, mainly at KBPI/KPNA and at KCPR, but any impacts will be
more brief than last night. There is an outside chance that fog
off of Boysen Reservoir may reach KRIW around sunrise, but any
fog here will be shallow and patchy. Other airport sites at
KBYG, KEMM, and KAFO are already seeing fog in the vicinity, and
will continue through the rest of the night. KRKS is
fluctuating due to passing light rain/drizzle, which will
continue through the night. After sunrise, any remaining low
clouds will thin out except for KRKS/KEMM, which will hold on
through around noon before lifting. Minimal cloud cover remains
through the rest of the day and into Friday night.

A weather system is rolling through and precipitation has been
reported at KCYS and KSNY this evening. Most of the remaining
terminals will be impacted through the night, except KRWL and KCDR.
This is and will cause MVFR to LIFR conditions with low CIGs and
decreased VIS. Some of this precipitation may transition into a
rain/snow mix or to all snow, with KCYS and KLAR having the best
chance, which may reduce VIS further. Winds will not be a
factor as they are expected to remain generally 10 knots or less
through this TAF period.

Stratus continues across southwest Nebraska and the Sandhills,
bringing IFR and LIFR ceilings. Further to the north, drier air in
the lower layers is keeping the lower ceilings and fog out of
portions of northern Nebraska, allowing VFR conditions to prevail.
Overnight, winds remain light and variable. With the precipitation
shield across southwest Nebraska, potential still exists for fog
develop overnight, with greatest potential across the Sandhills.
However, with rainfall and mid cloud cover, guidance has trended
down fog intensity overnight and slightly improved ceiling
forecasts. Even with those changes, IFR to LIFR conditions will
persist under the stratus shield. Further north, conditions may drop
to MVFR and briefly to IFR as stratus lifts north during the early
morning hours. By mid to late morning, conditions should begin to
improve across the region to MVFR and VFR conditions.

Widespread precipitation event continues to unfold across
southwest KS, bringing IFR to VLIFR cigs and vis to all
terminals. As the precipitation shield proceeds northward
through the night, rainfall will taper off from south to north,
with LBL and DDC drying out in the next couple hours, followed
by GCK and finally HYS. Once rainfall ends at each terminal, vis
will improve, however cigs will remain in LIFR/IFR for the
majority of the period. Otherwise, winds aoa 12 kts out of the
northeast will gradually trend more northerly by sunrise, and
persist through the end of the period.

Low clouds and occasional fog are impacting KDHT and KGUY this
evening, creating LIFR conditions at these sites. Confidence is
higher that these conditions will be more consistent at KGUY,
while KDHT might have intermittent clearing. KAMA is expected to
remain VFR but has low chances for low cloud decks to move in
later this morning. Winds will shift out of the north at 10-15 kts
as a cold front moves in tonight. All sites should likely resume
VFR conditions by the end of the period.

freezing fog in northern and western valleys. Low clouds across
north central and western NM burn off late Friday morning with a
scattered to broken layer of mid level clouds moving east into
western and central NM during the day and continuing after sunset.
