Showers and mid level scattered to broken clouds are lingering
over the region this evening. The greatest impact will be gusty
outflow winds over the next 6 hours as activity gradually
diminishes. A few hours of quiet conditions can be expected
between 09z and 15z before showers and thunderstorms start to
develop over the higher terrain once again. Activity in the
afternoon will be more widespread, with increasing chances of
brief heavy rain in addition to gusty outflow winds and
lightning. Outside of this activity, winds will follow typical
terrain driven patterns. VFR conditions are expected to prevail,
although brief drops to MVFR conditions will be possible under
those brief heavy downpours.

Showers and mid level scattered to broken clouds are lingering
over the region this evening. The greatest impact will be gusty
outflow winds over the next 6 hours as activity gradually
diminishes. A few hours of quiet conditions can be expected
between 09z and 15z before showers and thunderstorms start to
develop over the higher terrain once again. Activity in the
afternoon will be more widespread, with increasing chances of
brief heavy rain in addition to gusty outflow winds and
lightning. Outside of this activity, winds will follow typical
terrain driven patterns. VFR conditions are expected to prevail,
although brief drops to MVFR conditions will be possible under
those brief heavy downpours.

.AVIATION...KSLC...Overall VFR conditions prevail at the terminal
through the TAF period. High-based thunderstorms are expected to
develop once again this afternoon, with a 30% chance to impact the
terminal between 20-00z. These storms will be capable of
producing gusty and erratic outflow winds between 30-40 kts in
addition to lightning. Otherwise, predominant winds remain light
out of the southeast this morning before transitioning to the
northwest around 19z, though winds may become variable between
20-00z as outflows from nearby storms impact the terminal.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Increasing monsoonal
moisture across the region will yield widespread thunderstorm
coverage this afternoon. Impacts to flight categories for regional
terminals remains less than 30%, but can`t rule out brief CIG/VIS
reductions to MVFR/IFR conditions especially across southern Utah
terminals where better shear and instability may produce heavier
precipitation cores. Otherwise, storms this afternoon will once
again be capable of producing gusty and erratic outflow winds
between 30-40 kts if they move into the vicinity of any regional
terminals.

VFR conditions for the entirety of the period for all TAF sites.
Light winds will increase this afternoon after 18Z, with RIW/PNA
to see the higher gusts up to 18-25kts. Afternoon thunderstorm
chances at all TAF sites with widely scattered activity after
19-22Z. These will be heat driven with strong outflow winds
expected up to 35kts with the strongest storms. These will last
through around 03-04Z diminishing after sunset due to
radiational cooling. This will also see diminished winds to
less than 8-10kts into the overnight hours into Friday morning.

Shower and thunderstorm activity has ended for the night with skies
becoming mostly clear through early Wednesday morning. Upper level
ridge axis will build over the area Wednesday resulting in less
coverage of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon into
Wednesday evening.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: VFR conditions will prevail over the next 24
hours. Another round of showers and possible thunderstorms are
forecast for Wednesday afternoon, but should mainly impact KRWL and
KLAR. Further east, can`t rule out some shower activity and an
embedded thunderstorm, but confidence is too low to include for KCYS
and the western Nebraska terminals.

VFR conditions and southerly winds will prevail through the
period, overall a pretty good time to fly. This morning,
southwesterly winds look to gust up around 15-25 kts, and in the
midday they will gradually become southeasterly. In the late
evening, winds should slow to under 15kts, closer to the 10 kts
mark by 12Z Thursday. KMCK has a 5% chance of seeing some virga
showers this morning, ending by 20Z, but no impacts are
expected even if the showers form.

As of late tonight/early this morning, latest radar and satellite
imagery were seeing showers struggle to either develop or move
into the southern Panhandles, which has left us with overcast
conditions at KAMA. Still their are a couple of weak showers
present in the vicinity of KAMA that it is worth keeping mention
in present package. What will need to be watch however, is the
potential for this cloud deck to build further and create brief
period of MVFR conditions in the early morning. At this time
confidence is present that the cloud deck will lower, but not
enough to see categories change. Otherwise, more chances at
showers and thunderstorms are likely to follow tomorrow afternoon
for KAMA with KDHT and KGUY staying VFR.

Through the late morning hours, MVFR (less than 3,000 ft) to IFR
(less than 1,000 ft) ceilings will be the primary aviation concern,
mainly over southeastern New Mexico and also a few central to
east central areas. A few brief light to moderate showers will
also be found in these areas through the morning. Showers and
thunderstorms will develop more into the afternoon, particularly
over the southwestern and south central mountains where heavier
downpours, gusty downburst winds, and small hail will be observed
briefly. While much of the storm activity will die off this
evening, a few persistent showers will keep redeveloping tonight,
generally focused in the southern half of New Mexico. Batches of
low MVFR to IFR ceilings will once again accompany this shower
activity in southern areas tonight.
