There is some patchy fog to the north of DIA, over central Weld
county, early this morning but satellite has shown no movement to
the south. Thus have not mentioned any fog in the 12z Tafs.
Otherwise VFR conditions today and tonight. Winds were light south
to southeast but will trend light ENE by 16z. Winds by 20Z may
trend more NNE and then back to ENE by 01Z this evening. Late this
evening winds will go to the SE and then light drainage by 07z.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail at most TAF sites over
the next 24 hours under mainly clear skies. The biggest
challenge will be where and how impactful wildfire smoke will be
across central and southwest portions of the CWA. The plumes
should take up a northeast trajectory according to smoke models
and will watch webcams and obs and amend as necessary...with
KGJT the most probable this morning.

passing high clouds this afternoon. Most likely scenario depicts
lake breeze (northwest) winds becoming established by 17Z,
although it is possible that occasionally light northerly winds
could develop as early as 12 or 13Z. Evening SSE drainage winds
expected to become established between 04-05Z this evening.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions prevail for
all regional terminals through the remainder of the period with
generally clear skies. Slight degradation in slantwise visibility
in the Uinta Basin this morning due to wildfire smoke. Winds will
largely be terrain-driven through the period.

VFR conditions are expected at all TAF sites throughout the
forecast period, with a very small (10%) chance of MVFR
conditions due to MVFR ceilings at sites east of the divide
overnight. North-northwest flow is over western and central WY
today, with moisture moving from south-central MT into north-
central WY toward the SSE. With mostly clear skies west of the
divide and some breezy northwest wind, skies will be partly to
mostly cloudy east of the divide with breezy north-northeast
winds at times. KCOD/KWRL/KCPR will see some gusty north winds
during the middle and late afternoon and perhaps into the early
evening hours, but only 15-20 kts are expected. Models are
indicating some light showers over the northern Absarokas and
the Bighorns late this afternoon and into the evening, with
only a 5% chance of showers getting into KCOD and KCPR.
Overnight should see mostly clear west of the divide,
with mostly cloudy east of the divide as the weak shortwave
trough moves to the SE. Winds will be light overnight as the
mean flow shifts more the the west on Tuesday. Clouds are
expected to be heavier over the northern part of the state, with
some weak showers possible along the MT/WY border, which may
impact KCOD around 13/00Z. The southwest WY TAF sites will see
gusty west winds in the afternoon with mostly clear skies.

Upper level trough axis will dig southeast through southeast Wyoming
and into the Central Plains tonight. Shower and thunderstorm
activity will come to an end over the next few hours with clearing
skies. As skies clear, some patchy fog is possible.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: For most terminals, clearing skies tonight
and light winds are expected with minimal Aviation concerns through
Monday night. KSNY has the best chance of seeing IFR conditions in
fog between 09z and 14z Monday due to the heavy rainfall Sunday
evening. Models are coming into better agreement on the timing, so
added fog and low CIGS to the KSNY TAF. Otherwise, VFR conditions
and light and variable winds expected for Monday afternoon through
Monday night.

Pesky stratus does not want to move out of MCK so have added a
tempo as the stratus seems to be more scattered than anything via
satellite. Other than that VFR conditions are forecast for the TAF
period. For GLD NW winds are forecast to continue through the
afternoon and are forecast to remain light, some sporadic wind
gusts up to 20 knots are possible starting around the mid
afternoon however due to diurnal mixing. Winds are then forecast
to continuously shift from 00Z Tuesday through the end of the TAF
period but remain light. For MCK winds are then forecast to remain
light and variable through around 01Z then start to continuously
shift through the end of the period.
There is a slim chance of widely scattered storms this afternoon
and early evening for each terminal along with a slightly better
chance for MCK overnight but confidence is less than 30% to
warrant a PROB30 at this time for either terminal.

Excellent flying weather will persist through this TAF period,
with VFR, along with light and variable winds. Winds outside of
any convection are expected to remain below 10 kts through the
period. A cumulus field is expected this afternoon. Any
additional thunderstorm development after 21z Mon would favor
areas near the Oklahoma border, most likely south of LBL and
southeast of DDC. Opted to keep the LBL/DDC TAFs dry with this
TAF update, with confidence of impacts at these airports quite
low.

Generally VFR conditions at all terminals for today. However there
is a major exception in the form of rain showers and
thunderstorms. This morning there are light rain showers that have
a very low chance of impacting any terminal with brief MVFR
conditions during there passage. Then this afternoon and evening
further rain showers and thunderstorms will form that have higher
chances of occurring at KAMA then lesser chances for KDHT and
even lesser chances at KGUY. These storms will be capable of
producing brief IFR conditions during passage over an airfield.
There is a low chance that the storms become strong to sever with
large hail and damaging winds.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are forecast
along and east of the central mountain chain this afternoon and
evening, then scattered to isolated activity will linger across
the east after midnight. Some storms along and east of the
central mountain chain may turn severe this afternoon and evening
with damaging winds and large hail. The Rio Grande Valley and
southwest mountains will probably have spottier storms mainly
during the afternoon, and some of these will be capable of
producing virga with localized, brief, and erratic dry microburst
wind gusts up to 45 KT. Tonight, a gusty east wind will develop
below canyons opening into the central valleys from the east with
the strongest winds at KABQ, where gusts may peak around 40 KT.
