The main aviation threat will surround potential for another
round of gusty and variable shower and storm outflows Wednesday
afternoon. Otherwise VFR conditions will persist. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms will develop in the area 20Z-22Z and
then push east of the TAF sites by 02Z Thursday. Sufficient DCAPE
will be present for another chance (40-50%) of gusty outflow
winds to ~35 kts. We`ll have a PROB30 for this chance, although
we`ll once again have potential for TEMPO VRB winds 21Z-02Z if
confidence or coverage of storms increases. Otherwise, we`ll see
a fairly normal progression of diurnal winds, although starting
off here at 06Z from a bit more SE due to outflows from storms in
eastern CO and western KS. The diurnal patterns will likely be
interrupted by showers outflows toward 22Z, only to resume once
again after 02Z-04Z when storms move away from the TAF sites.

VFR conditions are generally expected at KALS, KCOS, and KPUB
through 24 hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will fire over
the mountains Wednesday afternoon, pushing east-northeast through
the rest of the day. Gusty outflow winds will be the main concern
near all three terminal when showers pass by. Currently, coverage
out east looks too sparse to put any prevailing precipitation groups
in. Best chance for wetting precipitation will be at KALS.

Isolated thunderstorms continue overnight across northeast Utah
with VCTS possible at KVEL through 10Z. Enough moisture, lift
and instability will allow for isolated storms to continue to
develop trough the overnight hours but confidence is low on
location. Southwest winds will increase across the area late
Wednesday morning into the afternoon with another round of
storms developing over the higher terrain initially with a bit
more coverage late afternoon into the evening hours. Most TAF
sites will have potential impacts, especially late in the day so
included a PROB30 group for -TSRA. VFR should prevail for most
areas the majority of the day with MVFR in any showers/storms
with gusty winds and locally heavy rain possible.

Isolated thunderstorms continue overnight across northeast Utah
with VCTS possible at KVEL through 10Z. Enough moisture, lift
and instability will allow for isolated storms to continue to
develop trough the overnight hours but confidence is low on
location. Southwest winds will increase across the area late
Wednesday morning into the afternoon with another round of
storms developing over the higher terrain initially with a bit
more coverage late afternoon into the evening hours. Most TAF
sites will have potential impacts, especially late in the day so
included a PROB30 group for -TSRA. VFR should prevail for most
areas the majority of the day with MVFR in any showers/storms
with gusty winds and locally heavy rain possible.

.AVIATION...KSLC...VFR conditions continue tonight/tomorrow with
gusty southerly winds at times and periods of scattered high clouds.
While gusts should decrease by 0Z this evening, steady south to
southeast winds over 10kts will persist through the night. Another
round of gusty southerly winds will develop by 15Z tomorrow morning.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Isolated showers and
thunderstorms from roughly a KEVW to KPUC line eastward this
afternoon/evening will be capable of MVFR conditions and gusty
outflow winds. Otherwise, VFR conditions are expected for the region
tonight and tomorrow. Generally southerly winds are expected
throughout the period, becoming gusty tomorrow morning around 20-30
knots. The strongest winds will be west of I-15 over the West
Deserts.

A few lingering showers and possibly a storm hang around tonight,
but should dissipate by sunrise Wednesday. VFR conditions will
prevail at all terminals through the TAF period. There will be much
less convection Wednesday afternoon and evening, with chances only
up to 15% for most terminals. There is around a 30% chance of
showers and storms at KCOD late afternoon Wednesday. The bulk of an
approaching weather system and jet stream starts to move in late
Wednesday evening into Wednesday night, which is when precipitation
chances will increase. Have included a PROB30 group at KRKS from 05-
06Z/Thurs as the better moisture moves in from this weather system.
Wind will be a bit stronger Wednesday afternoon, with most terminals
10-15 knots and gusts of 15-25 knots. Stronger wind of 15-20 knots
and gusts of 25-30 knots will occur at KRKS Wednesday afternoon.
Wind will decrease after sunset Wednesday evening, but will remain
around 10 knots from the south at KRKS and KCPR.

Southwest flow aloft will continue over the region for the next 24
to 36 hours. Embedded weak upper level disturbances will result in
another round of showers and thunderstorms each afternoon/evening.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: VFR conditions will prevail as the shower
and isolated thunderstorm activity this evening comes to an end
around sunset. Might be another brief shower or thunder shower
around KLAR and KCYS until 02z. Otherwise, activity should dissipate
by 02z.
There is a slight chance for some fog (~10% to 15%) over the eastern
plains tonight as surface winds shift into the south or southeast.
Only a few of the high res models are showing this potential, with
other guidance showing fog and low CIGS well to the east. Decided to
keep out of the TAFs for now, but will monitor through this evening.

Area convection continues to diminish heading into the early
morning on Wednesday. This trend should continue over the next
hour or so, leaving the remainder of the forecast period dry.
The main aviation concern will focus on the threat for fog,
favoring central Nebraska. This will keep LBF and VTN on the
western periphery and limit confidence in magnitude of impacts.
For now, believe LBF should see greater impacts given propensity
of valley fog to overachieve. Have inserted low-end MVFR for now
but believe IFR conditions, at least briefly, cannot be ruled
out. Conditions should improve by mid-morning, leaving VFR
conditions for the remainder of the period and gusty southeast
winds peaking around 25 knots.

Showers and storms have moved out of the area and no further
precipitation is expected tonight at either KGLD or KMCK. There
is a low probability, around 20%, of a brief period of IFR
conditions at KMCK around 12z due to low clouds and fog. VFR
then will prevail through the remainder of the TAF period.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening have a less
than 20% chance of impacting KGLD.

KDDC radar observations show a thunderstorm complex northwest of
GCK, and this complex is expected to roll east-southeast across
southwest KS over the next few hours, bringing MVFR/IFR cigs and
vis to GCK, DDC, and HYS. LBL could be clipped by the southern
edge, but confidence was too low to include in the TAF.
Otherwise, winds will be light and variable outside of the
thunderstorm influence overnight. Shortly after sunrise
Wednesday morning, winds will begin to increase out of the south
into the 13-16 kt range gusting to 23-26 kts through the late
afternoon, followed by a weakening to aoa 12 kts after 00Z.

A complex of showers and storms continues to weaken across the
central highlands and east central plains early this morning.
Included a TEMPO at KTCC for the potential of this weakening complex
impacting the terminal. Light winds and lingering mid level clouds
heading towards sunrise. Shower and thunderstorm coverage tomorrow
afternoon and evening will favor far western NM, north central NM,
and the central mountain chain and adjacent lower elevations.
Included PROB30s at KFMN, KGUP, KAEG, KSAF and KLVS to account for
gusty winds from this activity. Shower and thunderstorm activity
slowly tapers off after sunset with storms lingering longest and
persisting across northwest and far north central NM. Coverage at
KFMN looks greater from Thurs 00 to 04Z so included a TEMPO for that
reason.
