VFR is expected through the TAF period. After light and variable
winds this morning, northwest winds will develop this afternoon
between 19-21Z. Some gusts could reach 22 knots at all terminals.
Winds will become light in the evening and trend towards
drainage. A cold front will move through between 08-12Z Saturday
night. This will shift winds to the NNE with gusts up to 25 knots.
Behind this front, there will likely be stratus clouds that
develop given the upslope flow. The ceilings will most likely be
between 2,000-3,000 feet with the clouds lasting for 3-5 hours.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail over the next 24 hours
with mostly sunny skies. Some clouds will develop this afternoon
over the high terrain with afternoon wind gusts in the 20 to 30
mph range across most TAF sites. Isolated storms are possible
this afternoon over the San Juans and southern Divide mountains
but probability of impacts to TAF sites remains low. Clearing
skies and light, terrain driven winds return after sunset this
evening and overnight.

preference for a westerly direction, particularly across higher

Northwest flow aloft will settle over the area for the next 24 hours
as a ridge slowly develops across the western US. Skies will be
mostly clear for most terminals through Saturday afternoon,
with some mid- level (FL100-150) clouds moving in Saturday
evening. Wind will increase for much of the area Saturday
afternoon, with sustained wind of 10-15 knots and gusts of 20-25
knots at most terminals. As the weather system slides through
from the north Saturday evening a northerly wind shift will
accompany it, which will be most noticeable at terminals east of
the Continental Divide. This shortwave will also bring the
increasing cloud cover, and an isolated rain shower or
thunderstorm is possible (10-15%) at KCOD and KWRL Saturday
evening as a weak weather system slides down from the north, but
confidence is not high enough to include in the TAF. KCPR will
also see shower chances increasing late in the period (towards
12Z Sunday), but again, not enough confidence to include
mentions in the TAF.

this morning, which has filtered into KAIA and KBFF. LIFR
conditions are expected to prevail at those terminals through
13Z, improving quickly through 14Z. VFR conditions will then
prevail at all terminals through the rest of the period. West-
northwest winds will increase towards 14Z for most terminals,
with gusts around 25kts through the afternoon at all terminals.
A shortwave approaches from the north late in the period,
bringing shower chances to KCDR and KAIA after 08Z Sunday.

across western and north central Nebraska. Winds will be mostly out
of the west this afternoon, but will shift to northerly and
northwesterly this evening as a cold front tracks across the region.
Along with the wind shift, winds become gusty along and behind the
front, with wind gusts persisting into Sunday beyond the TAF period.
The front may also generate some showers and thunderstorms, but
given the more isolated nature, will omit from TAFs for the time
being until confidence increases on impacts and timing at local
terminals.

As of early this morning, latest radar imagery indicated that
present storms are continuing to move eastward and away from
terminals. However, it is still possible to see shower in or
around the vicinity of KAMA and KDHT through sunrise. The bigger
concern at this time is the present low cloud deck that is quickly
forming underneath the departing showers. At this time all
terminals have or will likely drop into IFR CIGs clear into the
late morning hours. After which, conditions should return to VFR
for the rest of the package.

A surface boundary from earlier thunderstorms continues to push
into northeastern and east central areas of New Mexico, causing
patchy low stratus clouds to develop with some scattered MVFR
(between 1,000-3,000 ft) and very spotty IFR (less than 1,000 ft)
ceilings. Otherwise mostly clear skies will prevail through
the morning. Storms will redevelop in northeastern New Mexico
this afternoon with the potential for hail, gusty downburst
winds, and brief downpours. Elsewhere, dry conditions will prevail
with light to moderate breezes. Low stratus clouds will redevelop
in northeastern New Mexico late tonight into early Sunday morning
with scattered MVFR to isolated IFR ceilings.
