There will be a chc of tstms (40%) thru 02z as activity develops
to the west and sw and move across the area. After 02z activity
will move out of the area with only a slight chc of lingering
showers.  Ceilings may drop down to 4000-5000 ft as the activity
moves across with brief visibility down to 5sm. Overnight may see
ceilings drop down to 1500-2000 ft between 09z and 13z. After 13z
should see ceilings sct out.  There will be sct tstms by 20Z Thu
aftn.
Winds will generally be SE thru the evening outside of erractic
winds with storms. After 08Z winds may become more variable in
direction with speeds under 6 mph. Winds by 17Z Wed will gradually
become NNE.

KCOS: Mentioned VCSH through 09z, otherwise MVFR-IFR cigs and vsby
through 09z, then potential for LIFR-IFR conditions due to DZ, cigs
and low vsby until 15z. Improving conditions from 15z-19z, then
convection redeveloping through the afternoon with intermittent MVFR
conditions.
KPUB: VFR until 08z, but satellite indicates low clouds building in
from the north so MVFR-IFR cigs and vsby through 10z, then potential
for LIFR-IFR conditions due to DZ, cigs and low vsby until 15z.
Improving conditions from 15z-19z, then convection redeveloping
through the afternoon with intermittent MVFR conditions.
KALS: VFR conditions anticipated through 21z. VCSH redevelops by 21z
with S-SW surface winds increasing, and added PROB30 for -tsra
between 22z-02z with intermittent MVFR cigs. VFR by 03z tomorrow
night.

Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to continue through
midnight. While storms may occur near all terminals, they are
most likely to occur near KASE, KGJT, KRIL, KTEX, and KGUC.
Strong and erratic gusts have already been seen near these
storms, and vis has decreased to MVFR at some locations as
well. Cigs are likely to drop below ILS breakpoints at KASE,
KEGE, KRIL, KMTJ, KTEX, KDRO, and KGUC this afternoon and
overnight. Storms may form near many terminals again towards the
end of the TAF period, but due to uncertainty, storms were not

.AVIATION...KSLC...VFR conditions will persist for the KSLC terminal
through the period. Dry and sunny conditions will continue through
the evening as light northerly winds transition to light southerly
drainage overnight.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...The northern airspace will
remain VFR with dry and sunny conditions along with light and
diurnally driven winds. The southern portion of the airspace will
see convection continue this afternoon into the evening hours
resulting in brief category reductions of MVFR/IFR possible with any
storms impacting the terminals. A brief lull in convection across
the south overnight will give way to more storms potentially
impacting terminals after 07Z.

To begin the TAF period a weather system is sliding across the area
with rain pushing through central Wyoming. Expect -RA at KRIW, KLND,
KWRL, and KCPR tonight, with rain pushing east out of the area
Thursday morning. KCPR will drop to MVFR/IFR due to low CIGS and
decreased VIS from rain. At other terminals with rain tonight the
rain should be light enough that VIS remains VFR and CIGS should not
drop to MVFR.
Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will develop Thursday
afternoon, but again should be mostly limited to mountains. Another
weather system will bring more scattered rain showers through
central Wyoming Thursday evening into Thursday night. Expect
frequent mountain obscuration around Casper Mountain and the Bighorn
Mountains tonight into Thursday morning.
Wind will be around 10-15 knots at KRIW and KCPR this evening into
tonight from the northeast/east as the weather system slides through
the area. It will also be a bit breezy from the northwest at KBPI,
KPNA, and KRKS Thursday afternoon. At KRKS the wind will shift
northeasterly once again Thursday evening as the next weather system
slides into the area.

Increasing cloudiness will hamper aviation operations over the
next 24+ hours.
Overnight tonight, gradually increasing sky coverage will allow
low-end VFR conditions to redevelop and eventually lead to MVFR
conditions for many area terminals. The next disturbance will
arrive from the west and bring the potential for -SHRA to both
VTN and LBF. Tied windows of precipitation to HREF output which
favors midday at LBF and closer to mid-afternoon at VTN.
Precipitation should be brief but behind activity, am
anticipating fairly expansive IFR CIGs as low-stratus fills. Am
somewhat uncertain in precise onset time and closely tied these
impacts to SREF/HREF probabilities but do anticipate some
changes with later forecasts.
Conditions should improve prior to the end of the valid period
at VTN but low ceilings should continue into the following
forecast period for LBF.

For KGLD... VFR conditions are forecast to begin the period, but
MVFR to IFR ceilings could develop rapidly. The current forecast
is on track for ceilings to lower below 3000ft around 09-10Z, as
current higher level cloud cover is inhibiting the area from
cooling and saturating. Over time, some moisture advection form
the south should help drop the ceilings, but be alert for a
rapid drop in ceilings if the sky clears. Fog would also become
more likely. Once ceilings lower, they should drop to around
300-700ft and persist through the morning. As we slowly heat up,
ceilings may be able to lift back to around 2000-4000ft after
18Z, before dropping again after 00-03Z depending on if storms
move in. As storms move through, ceilings should remain above
1000ft, but the storms could be severe with large hail and
damaging wind gusts. Once the storms pass, the air should
saturate and ceilings lower to around 200-700ft. Some fog may
also develop.
For KMCK... VFR conditions are forecast through at least 12Z.
Current observations show weak moisture advection in the lower
levels, along with some mid to high level cloud cover that are
keeping ceilings high. As low to mid-level moisture moves in
from the southwest ceilings should lower through the night and
eventually drop below 1000ft around 14Z. Ceilings could drop a
bit faster if low chance showers develop overnight and move
through. Ceilings should remain low through the period, with a
slightly better chance for a few rain showers and storms around
the 03-06Z timeframe. There is a very low chance that a severe
storm moves through with large hail or damaging wind gusts.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms over the far southwest
counties should be losing the better instability as they head
east, as, leaving lightning isolated at best after 08z. In the
meantime, 1- 2 sm visibility in showers is expected south anbd west
of GCK. With the rain cooled air, stratus will be prone to
develop in the rains wake by 9-12z with about a 80-90 percent
chance for ceilings below 3000 ft anywhere west and south of
GCK  and hints of locally lower ceilings under 1000 ft in this
same are through 15z.

A weather system continues to impact the panhandles through the
whole of today. This is currently causing a large swath of rain
showers and thunderstorms over the panhandles that is moving
eastward. After this area of precipitation moves outs it will be
followed up by a low level cloud deck of MVFR to IFR conditions.
The deck will lift during the early afternoon with marginal VFR
conditions. However rain showers and thunderstorms will form
during this time and may impact all terminals. These storms can
turn severe with large hail and damaging winds. There is a low
chance that even a tornado will form during this time. IFR or
worse conditions has a moderate to high chance of occurring
during the passage of any storms. These storms then move east
bringing a brief reprieve during the evening hours. However in the
north panhandles a powerful line of storms moves into the OK
panhandle and has a high chance of impacting KGUY and KDHT during
the overnight hours.

A batch of strong fast-moving storms will continue their trek
northeastward across the area, mostly impacting eastern NM during
the overnight period. IFR visibility is possible under heavier
storms, with more persistent MVFR conditions in these areas.
Ceilings and visibility will continue to deteriorate after 06Z
east of the central mountain chain, with the highlands from
Clines Corners to Raton Pass being the most favored area for fog
development. Confidence is high in widespread IFR ceilings across
all of eastern NM tonight through the morning. There is a low
chance (<10%) that fog develops in central NM, impacting sites
along the Rio Grande Valley around 12Z.
