Northerly winds to prevail through 09-10Z, and then transition to
the south-southwest for the rest of Saturday morning (18Z). Winds
then are expected to be light and variable before becoming
easterly. Best chance for thunderstorms will be east of the Denver
area. Having some sort of easterly component seems on track
through 00Z Sunday. Still about a 30 percent for thunderstorms at
DEN and APA, slightly lower for BJC. The chance for storms
decreases after 01Z Sunday with southeast winds expected to
prevail. The southeast to south winds are then expected to persist
through Saturday night.

KCOS, KPUB, and KALS: VFR conditions are expected over the next 24
hours. Light and variable this morning will increase slightly this
afternoon as diurnal mixing develops. While dry conditions are
expected to prevail for all three TAF sites, an isolated shower or
thunderstorm will be possible this afternoon, especially for KCOS
and KPUB, though confidence is low, around 20%, in this scenario at
this time. Strong outflow winds around 60 mph would be the primary
hazard with any stronger storms, along with frequent lightning,
small hail, and brief periods of heavy rain. Otherwise, pockets of
mid to high level clouds will develop this afternoon, with clear
skies returning Saturday night.

Showers and thunderstorms continue across northeast Utah and
into northwestern Colorado. These will impact KVEL, and
possible KHDN, over the next 2 hours, then should dissipate and
move away. Otherwise, skies are mostly clear and winds will
follow typical terrain driven patterns. Clear skies and typical
terrain driven winds continue into tomorrow. The only spots that
may see showers or storms will be along the highest terrain of
the Divide. VFR conditions will prevail for the next 24 hours.

.AVIATION...KSLC... Flow should generally remain out of the
northwest this afternoon with the exception of localized outflow
winds from thunderstorms. Thunderstorms are possible this
afternoon into the evening from around 21-01z. Strong to severe
storms are possible with gusts in excess of 58mph and marginally
severe hail. Around 03z, southeasterly flow should settle in
before becoming northwesterly again tomorrow around 15z.
.AVIATION...REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING... Thunderstorms are
possible across all of our northern UT TAF sites this afternoon
from around 21z through 01z. Strong to severe gusts and marginally
severe hail are possible with these storms. Additionally, IFR
conditions may be possible. Following 01-02z, VFR conditions will
prevail.

Showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue moving east
through midnight, possibly bring wind gusts to 40 knots in
vicinity of KWRL and KCPR as they pass. Otherwise, VFR flight
conditions are anticipated with clearing overnight skies and
light winds. South to southwesterly winds increase at all
terminals between 17Z-19Z with gusts generally between 20-25
kts. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible (30
percent chance) Saturday between 20Z-01Z at most terminals;
however, confidence in direct impacts is around 30% so opted for
a PROB30 group at this time. Confidence (less than 20%) is
lower at KJAC, KLND, and KRKS so left any mention out at this
time. Any direct impact or nearby thunderstorm could produce
gusty winds over 35kts. Outside of thunderstorm gusts, daytime
gusty winds are expected to diminish around sunset Saturday
evening.

11000 feet will prevail. Showers will be in the vicinity of
Laramie until 08Z. Winds will gust to 27 knots at Rawlins until
08Z, and from 15Z to 00Z.
Nebraska TAFS...Scattered to broken clouds from 6000 to
10000 feet will prevail. Occasional thunderstorms will affect
Chadron and Alliance until 07Z, producing wind gusts to
35 knots, visibilities to 4 miles and ceilings to 4000 feet.
Outside of thunderstorms, winds will gust to 24 knots at
Scottsbluff until 08Z.

pass just off to the southeast of the terminal with some broken

A cluster of storms moving towards KMCK may lead to some wind
gusts around 40 knots and perhaps some lower visibilities down
into IFR range; KGLD should not see any storm chances tonight.
Am also keeping an eye on some stratus developing overnight and
perhaps some fog; although as of now any fog should remain
northwest of the KGLD terminal and west of KMCK. Winds are
forecast to become northerly around sunrise or shortly after for
each terminal. Another round of storms is possible across
eastern Colorado and western Kansas Saturday afternoon and
through the evening hours. Confidence is to low at this time to
introduce any mention for impacts to terminal due to low
confidence in coverage, upcoming shifts will need to monitor
this situation.

A weak front will sag southward into Kansas today. South winds
at 10kts will gradually become light ahead of the front by
12-15z. There are small chances for thunderstorms along the
front by 21z but it is too early to tell if these will impact
the terminals. MVFR CIGS may develop with heating after 12-13z
due the very moist air mass and morning mixing; but any low
cloud will quickly burn off by 16-18z as the low levels warm
diurnally.

MVFR conditions have already settled into AMA, way earlier than
forecast models originally anticipated. We expected them to fall
to IFR within the next few hours. These conditions should last
until the late morning. GUY is also experiencing MVFR conditions,
but confidence is low that they will drop to IFR this morning.
Meanwhile, DHT should stay VFR through the most of the TAF
period.
Scattered thunderstorms have a chance to impact all sites this
evening. PROB30 groups have been added to account for these
impacts. Depending on the timing of these storms, they may last
until the end of the 06Z TAF period. However, some short term
forecast models suggest that they could end sooner.

Clear skies early this morning may give way to an area of MVFR low
cigs over far eastern NM. The NBM auto-populated cloud base grids
show no low clouds working into eastern NM with a <5% probability
for cigs below 5kft. However, based on latest satellite imagery
trends over west TX and 00Z HREF guidance there is much higher
potential from near KTCC to KCVS from 3am to 9am. SHRA/TS will
then develop to the lee of the central mt chain after 2pm and
grow downstream into a few stronger cells closer to the TX/NM
border thru 6pm. A few of these storms may produce downburst wind
gusts near 50KT. Outflow from this convection across eastern NM
may kick a gap wind into the RGV after 8pm with gusts near 30KT
possible around KABQ.
