Widely scattered high-based showers have formed over the
mountains to the west of Denver. This activity will spread
eastward and bring gusty outflow winds to the Denver airports this
afternoon, mainly 20Z to 01Z. South-southeast winds are expected
to prevail ahead of the gusty outflows. We still may see a brief
period when a cyclone forms with variable winds before the outflow
winds disrupt the cyclonic wind pattern.
Once the gusty outflow winds settle, expect a southerly drainage
direction to prevail at DEN and APA. A weak cold front pushes
south through the area around 12Z Wednesday bringing north to
northeast winds. There remains a slight chance (~10-20%) for low
clouds, but most of the models don`t show it and the 12Z NAM has
backed off some from the low clouds as well. Scattered
thunderstorms are expected after 20Z Wednesday, with the best
chance to the east of Denver where the better moisture will
reside.

period. Winds will generally persist out of the west-northwest
throughout the period seeing an increase this evening following
21z. A slight chance for isolated high-based showers exists near
the terminal tomorrow evening following 00z lasting through
Wednesday morning.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions will prevail
across all TAF sites through the period. Winds will remain light
and variable through tomorrow afternoon before a diurnal uptick in
winds out of the northwest kicks in, then calming down following
03z. There is a slight chance for isolated high-based showers
across our northern Utah sites tomorrow evening following 00z,
likely persisting into Wednesday.

VFR conditions prevail through 18Z/Wednesday as zonal flow aloft
slowly backs to the southwest ahead of a longwave trough positioned
over the Intermountain West. Any showers Tuesday afternoon will
mainly be confined to the Absaroka Range and adjacent areas.
After 06Z/Wednesday, mid-level moisture increases in southwest
flow aloft and provides for the development of isolated showers
across the southwest by 12Z. Ceilings lower during the 09Z-
15Z/Wednesday timeframe, but remain VFR. Showers become a bit
more widespread by 18Z/Wednesday, especially across the west. A
few showers may sneak into central Wyoming, with the likely
result virga. Mountain tops above 11K feet MSL occasionally
obscured along and west of the Continental Divide after
10Z/Wednesday.

VFR conditions will remain through the TAF period. A stalled
boundary may produce some rain showers as early as 21Z for KCYS
and 22z for KBFF and KAIA. KSNY may also be affected by these
showers but that looks to be as early as 23z. Considering that
these clouds would be mid to high based, precipitation may not
reach the ground and end up being virga. However, there is a
slight chance these showers could become thunderstorms strong
enough to produce rain that could penetrate the dry layer below.
Confidence is lower that 30 percent for that scenario thus left
out of the Prob30. There could also be showers tomorrow but
confidence on timing wasn`t strong enough to put it in the TAFS.

KGLD...VFR conditions are currently anticipated through the taf
period. An east to northeast wind up to 11kts is expected
through the taf period. Will be watching for the potential of
sub VFR cigs (if the NAM model is correct) after about 12z.
There is a possibility of a shower or thunderstorm in the area
from early this evening through about 09z but given the overall
lack of coverage and confidence there wont be a mention in the
taf forecast.
KMCK...VFR conditions are currently anticipated through the taf
period. Winds through the period will be from the northeast to
east at speeds up to 11kts. Similar to KGLD, will be watching
for the potential of sub VFR cigs (per NAM model) after about
15z. There is a possibility of a shower or thunderstorm in the
area from around 03z-09z then again after 15z. Given low
confidence and overall lack of coverage, there will not be a
mention in the taf forecast at this time.

VFR conditions will prevail in vicinity of all TAF sites through
early Wednesday. Southerly winds 15 to 25kt are expected to prevail
across south central Kansas while more light and variable winds are
forecast farther west with a stalled frontal boundary bisecting
southwest Kansas southwest to northeast through late evening.
Widespread light southerly winds are then expected to develop early
Wednesday as the frontal boundary begins to lift slowly north.

Thunderstorms will possibly develop in the vicinity of KAMA
around mid-afternoon; have therefore included a PROB30 group to
account for that. Strong downdraft winds will be possible with any
thunderstorm that develops today. Otherwise, MVFR ceilings are
expected to move in to KAMA Wednesday morning.

VFR prevails with light prevailing afternoon breezes out of the
south and southwest. The exception will be isolated MVFR/IFR
conditions from afternoon thunderstorms developing along a
sharpening dryline near KCVN south-southwestward to southeastern
NM. These storms will move east into TX from 00Z to 03Z kicking
an outflow boundary back into NM. Some of this low level moisture
behind the gust front will try to produce low ceilings over parts
of eastern NM, and have generic scattered 015-020 mentioned at
KTCC and KROW to account for this.
