VFR conditions will prevail for all terminals into tonight through
at least 10Z Sun. Current WNW winds, with occasional gusts to ~20
kts, will weaken 02-03Z this evening and turn to the typical
southerly drainage pattern. Overnight, a weak frontal boundary
will bring a shift to more northerly flow. Expect this to
initially emerge in the form of NW/NNW winds after ~08Z, with an
eventual turn to a NE component closer to sunrise. Low stratus
will move into the area coinciding with the arrival of these NE
winds, with CIGS to 020 expected, and ~30% chance of lowering to
015. Still anticipate stratus scattering out between 17-18Z as is
typical. E/ENE winds should prevail through the afternoon. True
scattering may be temporary, as SHRA should develop by mid
afternoon with periods of BKN CIGS ~050. Instability will likely
be limited given the morning stratus, so not entirely sold on TSRA
potential, but the possibility is there nonetheless, so the
PROB30 groups seem reasonable for now. 22Z would be the earliest
for any convective activity at KDEN (leaning closer to 23Z), and
may extend through 02 or 03Z.

KALS...VFR conditions through the next 24 hours. There have been
light rain showers passing across southern portions of the San
Luis Valley this afternoon, but look to remain near or just
south of the terminal. If one of these showers does hit the
terminal, a few sprinkles would be possible. This activity
should dissipate with sunset. A few wind gusts out of the west
are possible Sunday afternoon, near 20-25 kts. Again, a few
showers or thunderstorms may pass across the San Luis Valley
during the afternoon.
KCOS and KPUB...VFR conditions through much of the next 24
hours. A cold front will arrive late tonight into Sunday morning
with gusty northerly winds during the morning hours, swinging
easterly by the afternoon. Increased chances for showers and
thunderstorms Sunday afternoon at both terminals, with reduced
CIGS and VIS both possible as they pass. Mozley

Mostly dry northwest flow is giving way to a disturbance moving
south out of Canada into eastern MT and northeast WY this evening
and overnight. VFR conditions are generally expected at all TAF
sites, though there is a chance of MVFR conditions at KCOD, KWRL,
and KCPR due to lowered ceilings with rain showers. A low chance of
showers will start with KCOD around 08/03Z and go through 08/09Z. A
slightly better chance of showers should occur at KWRL and KCPR from
08/09Z to 08/15Z. There is an even lower chance of thunderstorms
associated with the showers, but can`t rule out isolated lightning.
Gusty north wind will accompany the cool front and the disturbance
overnight at locations east of the divide. The Bighorn Mountains are
likely to be obscured from 08/06-15Z. Cloudiness east of the divide
will increase overnight, then linger Sunday morning, before
decreasing Sunday afternoon from north to south. Pattern recognition
indicates a slight chance of some lower clouds and very localized
fog around KCPR after 08/12Z, though not confident enough to include
it in the TAF.
West of the divide will see gusty northwest wind decrease around
sunset, though stronger than normal north winds are expected at KJAC
overnight with this flow pattern.
As mentioned Sunday will see clearing skies from north to south as
gusty north-northwest winds return during the afternoon. Isolated
thunderstorms may develop over the southern Wind Rivers in the
afternoon, but are not expected to impact KLND.

A back door cold front will quickly move south across the high
plains this evening. Increasing low to midlevel cloudiness is
expected with bands of rain showers after midnight across the
western Nebraska terminals.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: VFR conditions will prevail this evening
and tonight with winds shifting into the north behind the cold
front. MVFR conditions are possible after 08z for KCDR, KAIA, and
possibly KBFF, but confidence is pretty low at this time. Best
chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be for
KLAR and KCYS, but timing is highly uncertain.

VFR conditions will prevail through the 0Z TAF period for both
KGLD and KMCK. Winds this evening will weaken fairly quickly
once the sun sets and a pre-cold frontal boundary passes over.
This pre-frontal boundary is difficult to track and may already
have passed over KMCK, giving them the weaker winds. Due to the
potential for northeasterly winds to mix to the surface, a
TEMPO group was included for KMCK. This evening until around
6-7Z, winds will be fairly light and variable ahead of the cold
front. Once the cold front moves through, expect winds to pick
up a bit and become northerly, eventually coming from the
north-northeast. The onset of the front`s winds will be more
rapid at KMCK, but will take a couple of hours at KGLD, hence
the TEMPO group of northwesterly winds picking up speed. Once
the front moves through, winds will generally remain north-
northeasterly, with max gusts of 25-30 kts kts being possible,
but 17-23 kts being common.

VFR conditions are expected in vicinity of all TAF sites through early Sunday.
Light westerlies this evening will become more variable overnight ahead of a
weak frontal approaching from the north. Northerly winds around 15 to 25kt are
forecast to develop generally after 13-15Z Sunday morning behind the boundary
as it pushes southward through western Kansas into northern Oklahoma by
early afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging wind gusts
across Union County will exit into the Texas panhandle later this
evening. Mostly clear with light and terrain dominated winds
overnight. Some low clouds possible in the vicinity of KTCC around
sunrise before burning off mid to late Sunday morning. Isolated
to scattered showers and storms develop mid Sunday afternoon
Sunday across far northeast and east central NM. A few may become
strong to severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts. Included
a PROB30 for KTCC for this chance.
