VFR conditions are possible until 01Z this evening. There is
potential for lower cloud decks this morning but there is low
forecast confidence if those clouds will arrive KDEN and KBJC.
Decided to delay the timing of low clouds instead of removing the
potential chance between 14-18Z. Scattered showers will develop
late this afternoon and cloud coverage shifts from SCT to BKN and
wind speeds increase between 10-13kts. Winds should remain north
through the evening.
By late evening, there is potential for IMC where cloud decks
lower near 8-6k feet. While a few showers may linger, it is
possible for fog north of all terminals if showers decrease in
coverage into Saturday morning.

VFR conditions are expected at the beginning of the TAF period, with
worsening conditions at all three TAF sites anticipated throughout
the period as a system approaches from our southwest. Showers and
weak thunderstorms are expected to bring degraded ceilings and
visibilities, along with MVFR and IFR, and possibly LIFR
conditions by the time we get to early tomorrow morning. Thunder
on station is most likely at KCOS from 21-00Z today, but will
be possible at all three stations this afternoon and into this
evening. Showers could be heavy at times. Strong south winds
with gusts of 25 to 35kt are expected before the onset of
showers and storms today as well. Showers, storms, and degraded
and ceilings and visibilities are expected to continue into
tomorrow as well.

Gusty winds, some moderate rain, and mountain snow will continue
across the region as a strong system approaches from the west.
Widespread broken to overcast skies will continue today and
into tonight with ILS breakpoints likely being met for the
mountain TAF sites due to reductions in vis and lower ceilings.
VFR conditions will likely continue before chances increase for
MVFR and IFR conditions during the latter part of the morning.
Mountain obscurations will be common along with some possible
LLWS for the higher elevation TAF sites. These conditions will
persist through much of tonight.

will be more scattered after 15Z, with VFR conditions prevailing.
Stronger showers will lower conditions into MVFR range. Northwest
winds will prevail, with gusts around 25 knots most of the
afternoon. Showers and clouds will diminish later in the
afternoon, with mostly clear conditions by around 00Z.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Rain and snow will bring
lowered ceilings and visibility to southwest Wyoming and much of
Utah. Snow with ceilings and visibility into IFR or lower range
will prevail most of the morning in southwest Wyoming. Snow
showers will last through much of the afternoon, with northeast
winds gusting around 30 knots. Throughout northern Utah, valley
rain is likely, with ceilings into MVFR range. Scattered rain
showers are likely much of the afternoon, with VFR conditions
prevailing, but stronger showers will lower ceilings into at least
MVFR range. Northwest winds will gust around 25 knots for much of
this area. Winds will be relatively light later in the day, but
gusty east winds are likely at KLGU and KOGD starting in the
evening. Rain and snow will continue later throughout southern
Utah. Snow with IFR or lower ceilings and visibility will last
through the morning at KCDC, with snow showers much of the
afternoon. Snow with IFR conditions is likely most of the day at
KBCE. MVFR conditions will prevail throughout much of southern
Utah where there is rain. North winds will prevail for much of
southern Utah, with gusts around 25 knots. Locally higher wind
gusts are likely for southwest Utah.

IFR to MVFR ceilings at many locations with the first surge
post frontal with rain on station and some restrictions to
visibility. IFR to LIFR ceilings and visibility west of the
Divide through mid to late morning 15-17Z, before improving
through the afternoon as snow tapers off west to east. A bit
later east of the Divide lingering at KLND with the heaviest
impacts due to upslope conditions with snow. Lower visibility
to IFR with possible ceilings to LIFR through evening around
00Z before improving there. Improving skies after 00-01Z for all
locations into the overnight hours into Saturday morning. Some
TAF sites may see fog after 06Z Saturday if the sky can clear
rapidly but not enough confidence to pinpoint at this time.

Pacific storm system and its associated cold front will push south
of the region today and stall near the four corners area. Persistent
east to northeast upslope flow will develop and continue through
tonight. Bands of rain showers will occasional develop ahead of this
storm system and lift northeast across the area through late this
evening. Rain may mix with snow or change over to all snow above
6500 feet.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: MVFR CIGS will develop over the area if they
already haven`t yet early this morning. These conditions will likely
persist through much of the day and into tonight. KCYS and KRWL have
the best chance to see more persistent IFR conditions in low clouds
and some fog, but not confident how long this will last, so added
some tempo groups to address this. Bands of showers and a stray
thundershower are expected today and will lift northeast across the
area. Rain will change over to snow or mix with snow at KRWL and
KLAR. This change over can`t be ruled out at KCYS, but confidence is
low at this time.

A front bisects central Nebraska southwest to northeast with
KVTN on the cold side and KLBF on the warm side.
At KVTN, expect VFR conditions with northerly winds at or below
10kt. Winds will increase heading into this evening as showers
develop and start streaming up form the southwest and flight
categories descend to MVFR through the latter portion of the
valid period.
At KLBF, expect light southeast winds and some low level wind
shear for the first hour or two. By mid morning diurnal heating
will mix stronger winds down to the surface with gusts 20 to
25kt persisting through the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms
will then develop toward sunset and continue through the latter
portion of the valid period with the front pushing through KLBF
around 03Z with winds becoming northeasterly. Behind the front
CIGs will gradually descend through MVFR to IFR before daybreak
Saturday.

For KGLD... VFR conditions are forecast until around 03Z, then
ceilings are forecast to lower. Moisture is forecast to continue
moving into the area. During the day, the only potential problem
is a small chance for showers and storms around 18-21Z. The
overall chance is around 20%, but precip might form south of the
terminal and move north. This evening, a low pressure system is
forecast to move over the area and provide a greater chance for
precipitation. While the better chances are to the west of the
terminal, there is still a 60% chance for precip this evening.
Additionally, the air column will begin to saturate, and
ceilings lower towards 1000ft.
For KMCK... VFR conditions are forecast through the period for
now. Currently the best moisture and precip chances are forecast
to be west and south of the terminal. While chances are low, it
is worth mentioning that showers and storms are possible around
the 20-00Z time period, and then again late overnight. Both
chances are generally below 20%, so they are not included at
this time since the system favors a westward pull. Towards the
end of the period, enough moisture may move into the area for
ceilings to being lowering.

South winds will continue this TAF period with wind speeds
increasing to 20 to 25 knots sustained. Mid and high level cloud
will continue to overspread western Kansas, and ceilings are
forecast to gradually lower down to MVFR flight category late in
the period. Numerous rain showers and widely scattered
thunderstorms are likely to remain west of southwest Kansas
terminals through this TAF period.

Intermittent MVFR cigs have developed tonight in the eastern
plains near the TX border and will likely continue through around
15Z this morning. A few showers are lingering across the north and
east, but most of the state remains dry.
A potent upper-level trough is currently digging into northern
AZ. A cold front will approach New Mexico from the west today,
reaching the NM/AZ border around 18Z. Cigs and Vis will drop
rapidly with the frontal passage, but may rebound later in the
evening as drier air moves in behind it. Breezy to gusty southerly
winds will prevail across most of the area today, with the
strongest gusts along the Rio Grande Valley where patchy blowing
dust could reduce visibility at times. Fast-moving severe storms
are possible in eastern NM where rounds of showers and storms will
continue through the overnight. Confidence is increasing that IFR
conditions will develop in northern and eastern NM around sunset
and persist through the end of the TAF period. Areas of fog could
result in VLIFR conditions across north-central and northeastern
areas, including KLVS, KCAO, and KSKX.
