East-southeasterly winds are still blowing at DIA from earlier
convective outflow. Most of the models show weak drainage
eventually to commence. Some models show weak variable winds
before dawn. Some models show a few hours of low Stratus as well.
I did leave in a SCT005 deck in after 10Z. We`ll see. If that
does occur it should be gone by around 15Z. It looks like one
more day of the PROB30 -TSRA along with VRB20G40KT.

VFR conditions to prevail at COS, PUB and ALS over
the next 24 hours. With residual moisture in place,
there is a very low chance of seeing IFR stratus
at the terminals, however, will not include it the
tafs at this time. Another round of afternoon showers
and thunderstorms can be expected over and near the
higher terrain, however with drier air filtering
into the region, storms that can develop near the
terminals will be higher based, with gusty outflow
winds up to 40kts the main threat. The best chances
of storms/outflow affecting the terminals will be at
COS and PUB from 20Z-24Z, though will keep prob30
in the tafs at this time.

VFR conditions prevail tonight through Saturday morning. Scattered
rain showers and thunderstorms will develop Saturday afternoon and
linger into Saturday evening across the area. Either prevailing -
SHRA and VCTS or PROB30 -TSRA at terminals where the best chance of
impacts from convection will be. The only terminal with no -SHRA,
VCTS, or -TSRA is KJAC, although there is still a 20% chance of
showers and storms at KJAC Saturday afternoon.
Drier air is now in place across the area, which means showers and
storms will be capable of strong downdrafts and outflows. This will
be the predominant driver of wind Saturday afternoon into Saturday
evening. It is possible even a light shower could produce strong
downdraft wind. While widespread severe weather is not expected
tomorrow the strongest wind gusts from showers and storms may reach
50-60 mph in the afternoon.

VFR conditions are currently prevailing across most of western and
north central Nebraska, as a band of showers and thunderstorms track
east across the region. With this new moisture, particularly across
southwest Nebraska, ceilings are expected to gradually lower
throughout the night, eventually becoming MVFR in the predawn hours.
MVFR conditions are expected to persist into the early afternoon,
when ceilings improve and VFR conditions return across the region.
Winds will remain quite gusty across western and north central
Nebraska tomorrow, with southerly winds gusting to 25 knots or
greater. Also, smoke from wildfires is expected to continue to
produce hazy skies, with potential reductions in visibility at the
surface, though these are expected to remain VFR visibilities.

GLD: As of 05Z this evening, severe southerly winds associated
with a wake low have diminished/ended. Breezy (20-30 knot)
south winds are anticipated to shift to the N by 06Z.. in
assoc/w an outflow boundary passage. Winds will become southerly
again Saturday morning, after convective influence has ended.
15-25 knot south winds are expected through the remainder of the
day. Showers/storms and gusty/erratic winds are possible late
Saturday afternoon and evening.. similar to previous days.
MCK: Ongoing thunderstorms in Hitchcock County, NE will impact
the McCook terminal between 06-08Z. Confidence is low that fog/haze
preceding the aforementioned storms will return after storms
have exited the area. ESE winds at 10-15 knots will likely
become gusty/erratic in vicinity of storms this evening and
overnight. S to SE winds will return Saturday morning.. after
convective influence has ended. Breezy (15-25 knot) S to SSE
winds are expected throughout the day on Saturday. Showers/storms
and gusty/erratic winds are possible late Saturday afternoon
and evening.. similar to previous days.

DDC, with visibilities teetering on the edge of MVFR, and the
latest HRRR near-surface smoke density fields suggests this
will continue through the day Saturday. Otherwise, current light
southeast winds will strengthen modestly into the 10-15 kts
range this afternoon before weakening after sunset to aob 10
kts.

MVFR to IFR ceilings are expected to move in to Amarillo around
11z, and MVFR ceilings are expected to move into Guymon around
13z. Both terminals are favored to return to VFR ceilings around
16z. Won`t be able to rule out some visibility restrictions due to
fog, but confidence is too low at this time to put in the TAFs.
Otherwise, thunderstorms will be possible late this afternoon and
into the evening at Guymon and Dalhart. Have included PROB30s to
introduce that potential.

Scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue
this evening with the greatest coverage of storms over eastern
areas where one or two broad clusters of thunderstorms are
forecast to drift toward the southeast around 10-20 KT. A few
storms over northeast and east central areas may turn severe this
evening by producing large hail and wet microbursts with wind
gusts near 60 KT. High res models depict a cluster of storms
continuing to drift southeastward across the east central and
southeast plains through the late night hours, finally exiting
southeast of the forecast area around 10Z. Airports impacted will
likely include those from KTCC to KROW, including KSXU, KCVN,
KCVS, and K4MR. We have low confidence on patches of low clouds
producing MVFR conditions east of the Sangre de Cristo and Sandia
Mountains late tonight into early Saturday morning, but it may
happen if the surface winds can turn upslope as a few models
suggest. On Saturday afternoon, isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms will favor the southwest mountains, south central
mountains, and Sangre de Cristo Mountains eastward.
