.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 409 PM MST Sat Nov 22 2025
VFR conditions will persist this evening with southeast winds
at KCOS and KPUB around 10 kts gradually decreasing and shifting
from the east to northeast. There is a less than 10 percent
chance of MVFR to IFR cigs/vis with FG developing briefly again
this evening. Odds look lower than last night given lower sfc
dew points and delayed saturation. Will need to monitor
satellite trends again closely. Will introduce a BKN035 layer in
for KCOS until winds make a more concerted shift out of the
northeast around 09z. KALS will stay VFR as mid and high clouds
increase from the south. Showers will push into the San Luis
Valley affecting the terminal around 15z with MVFR to IFR
cigs/vis in -SN during the mid to late morning. Accumulations
should remain under an inch on grassy surfaces. -SHRA will
spread into the KCOS and KPUB TAF sites closer to 18z with cigs
likely to remain in the VFR to high end MVFR category until
southerly winds and better saturation drop cigs into the IFR
category towards or slightly after 00z Mon at the tail end of
the TAF valid period. -KT

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 442 PM MST Sat Nov 22 2025
Low pressure will lift towards the Four Corners this evening and
just shy of the I-70 corridor by early Sunday morning. This will
bring breakpoint to near breakpoint conditions with mountain
snow showers and valley rains expected at KASE, KMTJ, KTEX,
KDRO, and KGUC. Marginal conditions are possible for KCNY and
KGJT by Sunday morning, but remain low confidence, therefore
kept PROB30 verbiage in there. Improving conditions are not
expected before this TAF period closes out. Winds remain light
with a few shower enhanced gusts possible within embedded
showers.

Salt Lake City Aviation Discussion
Issued at 2249 UTC Saturday, November 22, 2025

.AVIATION...KSLC...Northwesterly winds will persist until a
transition to southeasterly around 03-04z. Fog chances will return
once again late tonight and into early tomorrow morning. After 06z,
patchy fog will begin to develop over the lake, resulting in a 30%
chance for dense fog and LIFR conditions between 11-16z if the fog
is able to move over the airfield. Similar to today, may see some
MVFR SCT-BKN cloud decks lasting through much of the morning, likely
dissipating after 18-19z.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Across southern Utah, showers
will increase in coverage after 08-10z, mainly for areas east of
KBCE and south of KHVE, resulting in MVFR-IFR conditions at times.
These showers will likely continue through the morning, dissipating
through the afternoon as the low pressure system continues eastward.
Across northern Utah and southwest Wyoming, expect patchy dense
fog/LIFR conditions to redevelop across certain valley locations
after 03-06z, with the highest chances in the Cache Valley, Heber
Valley, near KEVW, and areas close to the Great Salt Lake between
KSLC and KBMC.

by the afternoon. Winds become more gusty during the afternoon,
especially across the Sandhills and north central Nebraska. By the
evening, winds begin to subside again. Skies remain mostly clear
throughout the TAF period, though some high cloud cover is expected
to track from south to north during the afternoon and evening hours.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 520 PM MST Sat Nov 22 2025
GLD: VFR conditions are expected to prevail through most, or
all, of the TAF period. Clear skies, calm winds and lingering
moisture from recent rainfall could facilitate the development
of fog this evening and overnight, though.. current and recent
runs of high-res model guidance continue to indicate that fog
will -not- develop. While confidence is low enough to preclude
explicit mention of sub-VFR conditions.. the 00Z TAF issuance
will reflect a TEMPO group for VFR fog (6SM BR) this evening.
Otherwise, showers and MVFR-IFR ceilings are possible around, or
shortly after, sunset Sunday evening.. at the very end of the
00Z TAF period. Light/variable or calm winds (this evening) will
shift to the S and increase to ~10-15 knots by sunrise (~12Z
Sunday).. as surface high pressure over the region progresses
east toward the MS River Valley. South winds will increase to
15-25 knots during the late morning and persist through the
majority of the afternoon.. as the MSLP gradient modestly
tightens on the eastern periphery of a developing lee cyclone in
CO. S winds are expected to decrease to 12-17 knots shortly
before sunset Sunday evening.. via the onset of a nocturnal
inversion and/or an increasingly stable, rain-cooled airmass.
MCK: Clear skies, calm winds and lingering moisture from recent
rainfall could facilitate the development of fog this evening
and overnight, though.. current and recent runs of high- res
model guidance continue to indicate that fog will -not- develop.
While confidence is low enough to preclude explicit mention of
sub-VFR conditions.. the 00Z TAF issuance will reflect a TEMPO
group for VFR fog (6SM BR) this evening. Otherwise.. VFR
conditions are likely to prevail throughout the 00Z TAF period.
Light/variable or calm winds (this evening) will shift to the S
and increase to ~10-15 knots during the late morning or early
afternoon.. as surface high pressure over the region progresses
east toward the MS River Valley. 10-15 knot S winds are
anticipated to persist through the remainder of the 00Z TAF
period.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 509 PM CST Sat Nov 22 2025
VFR conditions will prevail in vicinity of all TAF sites through
early Sunday morning. Patchy fog development may be possible toward
daybreak with very light winds, increasing relative humidity, and
clear skies expected. This will increase the potential for MVFR vsbys
in vicinity of all TAF sites generally after 09-11Z. Light and variable
winds will persist through early Sunday as surface high pressure
edges eastward through north Texas into the Mississippi River Valley
by Sunday afternoon.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 329 PM CST Sat Nov 22 2025
VFR conditions will persist at all terminals through the rest of
today. Overnight there is a moderate chance for a bank of fog to
form in the northern panhandles. This is most likely to impact
KDHT and KGUY with IFR or worse conditions. KAMA has a lesser
chance for the heavier fog with the TAF reflecting a lighter mist.
A weather system then arrives in the panhandles during the morning
hours of Sunday. As this system approaches it will most likely
help lift the fog bank into a low level cloud deck. This would
then combine with the cloud bank of the weather system leading to
broad MVFR conditions across the panhandles for the morning into
the afternoon hours. Light rain showers are expected to impact all
terminals during the morning to early afternoon hours. There is a
very low chance that a few of the showers becoming strong enough
to turn into thunderstorms. However the threat of thunderstorms
was to low to be carried within the current TAFs. Late in the
afternoon more so towards the evening the weather system departs
leading to improving conditions.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 445 PM MST Sat Nov 22 2025
VFR conditions late this afternoon will deteriorate from west to
east this evening through Sunday morning. A wide band of rain
showers and mountain snow will move into western NM between 06-08Z
before shifting east/northeast Sun morning. MVFR cigs are
expected, but moderate to high chances for IFR cigs/vsbys exists
in the heavier precipitation. In general, the heavier
precipitation should last no more than 2-5 hours at most locales.
Mtn obscurations are expected. Once the band passes and the upper
low moves over the NM/CO border in the afternoon, scattered
instability showers and a few thunderstorms will develop favoring
areas along and west of the Central Mountain Chain. These will be
more spotty in nature, but may briefly reduce cigs/vsby. Aside
from the precipitation, an east canyon wind will also develop at
KSAF and KABQ this evening and overnight. Gusts near 30kt are
likely at KABQ and 20kt at KSAF.
