VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the TAF period.
Winds are currently light but slowly starting to settle on an
east-southeast direction, which should continue into the afternoon
hours. Most guidance still develops a few showers later this
afternoon, though ACARS soundings are still quite capped between
800-700mb. Didn`t see a reason to change the existing PROB30,
though it was extended an hour further into the evening. A few
showers may linger into the early overnight hours along the Palmer
Divide, which should help winds transition back to drainage
directions after 03z.
A little more uncertainty in the forecast tomorrow. Most CAMs
develop a weak lee trough/cyclone across the Denver metro, leading
to a variety of possible wind directions by the late morning
hours. Winds at least look weak during this period with speeds
near or less than 10kt. Guidance again tries to develop additional
showers or storms in the afternoon, but there is considerable
spread across guidance in terms of precipitation potential.

Upper low system over southern NV is drawing abundant moisture up
across the Four Corners and into CO. Increased cloud cover as well
as widespread shower and storm activity will the case across much of
the forecast area over the next 48-72 hours. Activity will primarily
be focused across the higher terrain and southern border today,
initially affecting KALS.
KALS: VFR-MVFR conditions through late tonight, with VCSH, and
PROB30 for -TSRA and variable gusts to 28 kts 20z-02z. Starting
around 09z, MVFR conditions potentially degrading to IFR as low
clouds and areas of fog develop.
KCOS: South winds gusting to around 25 kts this afternoon and early
eve, with a PROB30 for-TSRA between 23z and 02z. Predominantly VFR
conditions anticipated.

Clouds will increase during the afternoon with scattered showers
and thunderstorms expected. The main threat with these storms
would be gusty winds and heavy rain lowering visibility. PROB30
groups were added to TAF sites to capture the scattered
convection through the day. High and mid level clouds will
remain over the region overnight with some lowering possible
over southern Colorado. VFR conditions are expected though some
brief MVFR from a stronger shower or storm can`t be ruled out.
However, chances for MVFR will increase near daybreak tomorrow.

A complicated weather system moves through today into early tonight,
with rain chances and outflow gusts possible between 18z/Tue and
12z/Wed. An upper-level low will push northwards today, near the
western Wyoming border. With it, two main rounds of showers and
thunderstorms are possible. The first occurs to start the period,
with this cluster of showers and storms tracking north to
northeastwards through the afternoon. Shortly behind it, another
cluster of showers and storms are expected. Any convection should
end between 06z and 12z. The greatest threat with any shower or storm
today will be outflow gusts 40 to 60 mph. Brief periods of MVFR are
also likely if a storm moves directly over a terminal, a result of
moderate to heavy rain and lowering ceilings.

Complicated forecast leading to a variety of flight categories over
the next 24 hours. Visible satellite trends indicate low clouds
hanging on over the Nebraska terminals, with slight hints of some
gradual clearing at KSNY where LIFR CIGs are currently in place.
Anticipate the Nebraska terminals to remain under MVFR or IFR until
19-21Z before we gradually erode the stratus deck. Under the
anomalously moist air mass and another moisture surge expected
overnight into tomorrow morning, have introduced a TEMPO group
for BR and MVFR CIGs for KSNY and KAIA, however KBFF may have to
be included in the 00Z update.
Different hazards for the Wyoming terminals this afternoon as a weak
shortwave trough ejects from the SW over our area, which will result
in widely scattered showers and thunderstorms primarily after 22Z
through 03Z. Not expecting much in the way of VIS decreases
in/around showers due to large surface dewpoint depressions, however
showers/storms will be capable of producing gusty and erratic winds
up to 35 knots. PROB30 groups have been left in at this time based
on high-resolution ensemble guidance. Another weak disturbance is
expected tomorrow morning after 10Z with isolated coverage, so
included VCSH for KCYS and KLAR to account for < 30% probabilities
of direct terminal impacts.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue across northern
Nebraska this afternoon and into the evening hours. Expect some
minor visibility restrictions down to 5 miles as times in rain
showers. Elsewhere, cloudy conditions with ceilings at 1000 feet or
below will continue through the overnight hours. Some gusty winds up
to 30 knots will also develop by this evening lasting through the
TAF period. This should keep any widespread patchy fog at bay, but
some light fog or mist could be possible early Wednesday morning as
ceilings drop to 500 feet or less. Ceilings gradually improve
through late morning, but remain under 2000 feet into early
Wednesday morning.

GLD: Main focus will be the increasing SE to SSE winds
increasing from 15-20 knots with gusts of around 25 knots into
this afternoon further enhancing overnight to near 20-25 knots,
with gusts to 35-40 knots by mid to late tomorrow morning.
Otherwise, VFR conditions continue with high level clouds
becoming broken this evening and few to scattered tomorrow.
MCK: Latest satellite and observations reveal IFR ceilings
along with a gentle southeasterly breeze as well as clearing of
widespread cloud cover just to the southwest. As winds continue
increasing, clearing is expected through the next few hours,
leading to VFR conditions with southeasterly winds near 15
knots, gusting to 25 knots by 21Z this afternoon, perhaps a bit
sooner. MVFR ceilings are expected to return by late tonight,
lowering throughout tonight, followed by VFR conditions by late
tomorrow morning as SSE winds increase to 15-20 knots with gusts
of 30-35 knots.

MVFR cigs at AMA and DHT beginning to lift while VFR and mostly clear
skies are noted at GUY. Winds across the panhandles currently is
generally southeasterly around 10kt and forecast soundings are

cigs prevail across eastern portions of the state. Deterioration
is forecast through the TAF period as sct/num showers and storms
develop this afternoon and then transition to widespread
rain/showers overnight with iso/sct thunder. Widespread MVFR
conditions with areas of IFR conditions are forecast across the
area Wednesday morning, with slow if any improvement. Mountain
obscurations will become widespread overnight and likely continue
through mid day Wednesday.
