We`ll start this TAF period with southwest winds at KDEN and KAPA,
and more W-NW at KBJC. Those winds are expected to transition more
S-SE 15Z-18Z (may be briefly VRB), and increase with a few gusts
to 20 kts ahead of developing scattered showers and storms
this afternoon. There is a relatively high confidence of gusty
outflows with sufficient shower/storm coverage - enough for
VCTS/VCSH and TEMPO VRB G30+ kts in the most likely time frame of
21Z-24Z. There`s a slight chance (20%) that storms could begin as
early as 20Z, and a 30% chance of some gusty outflows/light
showers lasting to around 04Z. Outside of showers and storms, an
enhanced S-SW wind component is expected after 00Z, with speeds
of 10-14 kts with G20 kts, eventually settling to lighter winds
06Z-12Z Sunday.

Convection will again form over the mountains this afternoon,
with weakening activity drifting across valleys/lower elevations
late in the day. Have included vcsh at both KALS and KCOS from
late afternoon into the early evening, though confidence in tsra
on station at either site is too low to put into a Prob30 group
at this time. Winds will increase from the southeast at all
three terminals by afternoon, and it still appears a wind
shift/outflow from thunderstorms over the mountains will occur
at KALS around 00z and KCOS by 02z, with nw gusts 25-30 kts
possible.

KSLC...Southeasterly winds will prevail through the morning, likely
transitioning to northwesterly after 19-20z. Confidence in shower
and thunderstorm development is low this afternoon, resulting in low
confidence in wind direction given a gusty wind threat with these
storms. An initial few storms will likely develop off the higher
terrain between 19-23z, potentially followed by a (even lower
confidence) second push of showers and gusty outflow between 03-07z.
VFR conditions will prevail.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Showers and thunderstorms will
begin to form over higher terrain after 17-18z, becoming more
scattered across all but far southwest Utah after 20z. These storms
will be capable of producing gusty and erratic outflow winds, with
the highest winds possible across northwest Utah, potentially
exceeding 50kts. Outside of outflow, winds will slightly favor a
westerly to southwesterly direction during the afternoon, and will
be light and terrain-driven otherwise. VFR conditions will likely
prevail, though a heavier shower could produce a temporary VIS
reduction.

A few morning showers continue to drift through southwest WY
currently, but have only brought cigs down to around 10000 feet
and no significant wind gusts. Once daytime heating picks up,
some showers and thunderstorms will form again, mainly for NW
WY. Confidence remains good for PROB30s for most sites this
afternoon, so did some timing adjustments to those for the
afternoon. Only site with no precip mention is KCPR, but
isolated showers could also approach there late afternoon. Any
thunderstorms that do develop could produce gusty winds,
reaching at least 35kts, possibly as high as 50kts during peak
heating. Once heating decreases, showers will quickly dissipate,
with mostly clear skies for the overnight hours. Another day of
isolated thunderstorms expected again on Sunday.

South to southwest winds will develop by midday with gusts to
around 20 knots expected. Look for scattered high-based showers
and thunderstorms to develop across a wide portion of the area
during the afternoon, with multiple rounds expected through the
late evening hours. While the primary hazard with this activity
will be microburst winds, lightning, and brief VIS drops do to
rainfall are also possible. By mid-evening, expect thunder to be
less common, but gusty showers may continue until nearly
midnight. Timing remains difficult to pinpoint as this activity
will be disorganized and will come with multiple rounds. PROB30
groups were narrowed somewhat with this update. Most gusts will
be in the 25 to 40 knot range, but a few isolated wind gusts
exceeding 50 knots are possible near showers and storms.

Dense fog will continue through mid-morning for portions of the
southern Sandhills into central Nebraska, including KLBF and
KBBW terminals. VFR conditions will return for the entire
forecast area by late morning through the rest of the forecast
period. There is a chance for isolated thunderstorms across the
far northern Sandhills late this afternoon and evening. At this
time uncertainty remains on exactly where storms will develop,
but greater confidence at this time storms will remain north
and west of KVTN terminal, so have left the mention out of the
tafs this forecast period.

For KGLD... VFR conditions are forecast, with a 20% chance that
some patches of fog move through around 09-13Z. If fog does
develop, it may be dense. Otherwise, winds through the night
should vary in direction below 6 kts, and then increase to
around 15kts after 15-17Z.
For KMCK... IFR conditions are forecast again tonight with fog
already forming over the terminal as of 05Z. Expect the fog to
become dense as the night goes on, with visibility near 1/4 of a
mile and ceilings around 100-200ft. Given the limited scope of
the fog that is forecast, the fog should burn off a little
faster compared to the prior day (likely by 14-16Z). Once the
fog clears, VFR conditions are forecast with winds from the
southeast around 10 kts.

will be very hot across the panhandles leading to high density
altitudes at all terminals. There is a very low chance for

A few showers continue near and south of I-40 this morning, but
much of the activity has ended. Another round of showers and
thunderstorms will develop late this morning and early this
afternoon. Storms will favor areas along and west of the Central
Mountain Chain. Storm motion will be slow and erratic. The
strongest storms will be capable of gusty outflows in excess of
35kt, small hail and IFR vsbys in heavy rainfall. Storms will
slowly diminish in coverage and intensity late tonight.
