Satellite shows an area of fog developing across southwestern Weld
county, a little northeast of EIK. While overnight HRRR runs have
been far too bullish with the fog development so far, the shallow
surface moisture underneath a strong inversion would promote at
least some fog potential, especially if drainage winds weaken or
if there`s a wind shift out to the N/NW at DEN. Did introduce a
TEMPO for some modestly reduced visibility, but at this point
still think any dense fog stays off to the northwest of DEN. Any
fog should burn off as the inversion breaks later this morning...
close to 15-16z. Quieter conditions are expected at BJC/APA this
morning.
VFR conditions are expected to prevail through the rest of the TAF
period with a typical diurnal wind pattern with light speeds
(<10kt).

For KCOS..MVFR ceilings are expected to scatter and lift over the
next few hours, with VFR conditions prevailing through the rest of
the TAF period. Winds will be southerly through the afternoon, with
gusts to around 22kt possible around peak heating.
For KPUB..Ceilings have cleared over station, and VFR conditions are
expected to persist through the rest of the forecast period. There is
a very slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm later this
afternoon, though chances were too low (less than 30%) to include in
the TAF at this time. For the most part, convection should remain
south of the station.
For KALS..VFR conditions are expected to persist throughout the TAF
period, with gusty southwest winds and scattered mid-level cloud
decks. Showers and thunderstorms are possible (30% chances) for this
afternoon, though most convection is expected to remain along the
higher terrain, and to the south of the station for the most part.

Dry conditions and SKC skies will continue across the region
through the TAF period. The upper flow will begin to back to
the southwest today, which leads to breezy southwest surface
wind at KCPR and KRKS, as well as KBPI and KJAC at times this
afternoon. Otherwise, other terminals will remain 10 kt or
less. Patchy fog in the Wind River Basin through 15Z is not
expected to impact the KRIW terminal.

Patchy fog/low clouds have developed in the southern Nebraska
panhandle, and could produce temporary MVFR to IFR conditions at
KBFF, KSNY, and KAIA over the next few hours. Confidence is
fairly low in this materializing over the terminal itself.
Otherwise, look for gusty southwest winds today at KRWL and
KLAR, and gusty south winds at NE panhandle terminals. Winds
will gust between 20 and 30 knots much of the day in these
locations, and may continue after dark for KCDR and KAIA. Winds
should weaken during the late evening, and attention shifts back
to the possibility for low clouds and/or fog heading into
Thursday morning. The best chance for this tonight will be near
KBFF, KAIA, and KSNY.

spreads north into the area. Expectation is for both LBF/VTN to
fall to MVFR conditions by midday with gusty south winds around
30 knots. Confidence in exact magnitude of flight degradation,
particularly Wednesday evening, is low. Guidance is split on if
stratus exits or lingers. Should it linger, expect a
continuation of MVFR conditions and perhaps even IFR for LBF
through the end of the period. Gusty winds will likely continue
through the bulk of the period with stronger LLWS conditions
developing tonight.

GLD: VFR ceilings ~5000 ft AGL this evening are expected to
deteriorate to MVFR (~1500-2500 ft AGL) by sunrise (12Z) Wed
morning.. as low-level southerly return flow /warm advection/
strengthens over the region. Further deterioration to IFR
cannot be ruled-out during the mid-late morning. Ceilings are
expected to lift/scatter to VFR during the early-mid afternoon
(18-21Z). Light S to SE winds will increase to 12-20 knots by
late morning and further increase to 15-25 knots during the
afternoon. Breezy SE winds may persist through the remainder of
the 06Z TAF period.
MCK: VFR conditions will prevail through sunrise Wednesday.
Strengthening low-level southerly return flow /warm advection/
may foster the development of MVFR ceilings at McCook during the
late morning to early afternoon (~15-18Z Wed). Sub-VFR
ceilings, if present, would likely lift to VFR (~3500 ft AGL)
during the early afternoon. Light/variable winds will shift to
the SSE-SE by sunrise, increasing to 12-20 knots by mid-late
morning (~15Z) and further increasing to 15-25 knots during the
afternoon. Breezy SE winds may persist through the remainder of
the 06Z TAF period.

IFR to LIFR ceilings are present at all terminals at this time and
is expected to continue through around 15z to 17z, depending on
the terminal. Afterward the ceilings will lift and a return to VFR
conditions is expected in the afternoon.

A challenging TAF period to start today with a mix of MVFR/IFR
conditions along and east of the Rio Grande Valley. Either from
low ceilings, patchy fog and mist, or persistent rounds of showers
and thunderstorms, impacts to terminals have been common in this
half of the state and looks to continue well into this morning.
Have continued mention of ts at KSAF and KLVS to 14Z and 13Z at
KTCC but amds may be necessary for time extensions as they have
been all night. Conditions should steadily improve by late morning
and this afternoon with some pockets along the highlands
maintaining MVFR conditions well into the afternoon period.
Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will favor
development along the central mountain chain and Continental
Divide before expanding northwestward toward KFMN and KGUP and
into parts of the middle Rio Grande Valley from KSAF to KABQ this
evening.
