GILPIN AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES UNTIL 730 AM MDT...
At 640 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a snow squall near Idaho
Springs, or 31 miles west of Denver, moving east at 30 mph.
Locations impacted include...
Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Empire, Silver Plume, Blue Valley,
Dumont, Floyd Hill, Bergen Park, Kittredge, Russell Gulch,
Downieville, Lawson and Genesee.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 224 and 254.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this snow
squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads are
likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the
squall passes your location.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
