Developmental Probabilistic Snow Accumulation Forecast
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, Colorado
0904 MST Friday, November 08, 2024

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This developmental product contains the probabilities (%) that the given snow
amounts (inches) will occur at Denver International Airport during the respec-
tive 3- or 12-hour periods. The probabilities indicate the amount of snow that
is expected to accumulate on runways and other concrete surfaces at DIA.
[T (trace) means more than zero.]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short Term (08/11-09/11 MST): Snow, heavy at times is expected now through early
Saturday. Snow rates will fluctuate this morning into early afternoon, before
probably going more steady at moderate (1/2 VIS) to at times heavy (1/4 VIS).
With moderate or heavy snow, accumulation will occur on runways and taxiways,
even during daylight hours. After 6 PM, any snow that falls will accumulate on
runways and taxiways. Total snow accumulation on the runways will likely be
between 4-8". Snow rates will be much lighter after 14Z, though snow is
expected to fall through 18Z. Rapid improvement is expected with temperatures
rising above freezing and filtered sunshine by Saturday afternoon.
