.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight..
Elevated fire weather conditons can be expected this afternoon in
the northern mountains, high valleys, and near the Wyoming border
where breezy winds gust to 20-30 mph. Humidity values will drop
into the upper teens in the breeziest locations, while lowering to
15% or less over most of the plains and lower foothills.
Temperatures will be a couple degrees warmer than yesterday, and
isolated late afternoon showers or weak storms will produce gusty
outflow winds.
A cold front will push across the plains late tonight into early
Saturday morning.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...
Cooler temperatures and a bump in humidity readings can be
expected Saturday. Sunday will be very warm in most areas again,
with a drop in humidity levels. The breeziest areas on Sunday
should see lighter winds, so no critical fire conditions are
anticipated. Moisture will increase early next week with
increasing chances of showers and storms. Cooler weather and
higher humidities will move in by Tuesday.
