.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Friday...
Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible this evening,
and then a slight chance of a storm overnight near the northern
border. Warmer and drier weather is expected Friday. Humidity
levels may drop under 10% in a couple spots like the high mountain
valleys, southern foothills, and Denver metro area. Winds will
gust to near 25 mph over the high mountain valleys, but so far
spring greenup is keeping fuels as non conducive to fire spread.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday night through Tuesday...
On Saturday, it will still be relatively dry in the mountains and
high valleys, but moistening over the plains with at least
scattered coverage of showers and storms. Those chances of rain
will increase even further (60-80% chance) Sunday with cooler
temperatures. Somewhat cooler, moist, and unsettled weather is
expected to remain in place through Memorial Day. Only a gradual
moderation in temperatures is expected Tuesday and beyond, but
lingering moisture will keep scattered afternoon and evening
showers and storms in the forecast.
