.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Sunday...High pressure aloft
will continue to bring hot temperatures through Sunday. There is
enough monsoon moisture to fuel scattered afternoon and evening
showers and thunderstorms. The main threats with the storms are
very heavy rainfall and gusty outflow winds up to 50 mph. The
monsoon moisture is also helping to keep relative humidity above
20 percent across most of the higher terrain. Other than gusty
winds near thunderstorms, winds are expected to be on the light
side due to the high overhead.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday...An increase
in monsoon moisture is expected beginning Monday and continuing
through at least Wednesday. This will bring slightly cooler
temperatures and increased chances for showers and thunderstorms.
