.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...
Light surface winds will mean less concern for fire weather. It
will also be about 10 degrees cooler across much of the area on
Tuesday behind a weak cold front that moves across the plains late
tonight. Thunderstorm coverage will be much greater than the past
several days as well.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...
A continued trend of cooler/wetter weather will continue through
at least Friday. Plenty of moisture will be in place for scattered
thunderstorms each afternoon. The West Slope will be drier than
east of the Divide, and even though RH across the mountain valleys
may dip below 20%, winds will continue to be light during the
afternoon hours away from any thunderstorms. The best chance
of wetting rainfall should be Wednesday or Thursday. Overall, the cooler
temperatures and increased moisture will limit fire danger through
Friday.
