.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Very cold temperatures will
persist today and tonight. Smoke dispersal will be limited to poor
in most of the foothills and plains due to the arctic airmass and
stable airmass. However, most mountain locations above 8,500-9,000
feet will see good to very good smoke dispersion due to sufficient
westerly flow aloft and a more unstable thermal profile.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday through Sunday...
Prolonged moderate to heavy snow expected for the mountains Thursday
night through Saturday, with breezy conditions for the higher
elevations. Drier and milder weather will prevail Thursday and Friday
for the foothills and lower elevations, with snow expected to return
Friday night into Saturday. Smoke dispersal conditions should remain
quite favorable each afternoon for the foothills and mountains.
