.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Sunday...
Hot and generally dry conditions can be expected through Sunday as
a dominating ridge of high pressure remains over the region.
Minimum humidity readings ranging from 18-28% over most of the
area today will drop slightly Sunday as high temperatures warm
another 3-4 degrees. Moderate to good humidity recovery will
occur tonight despite warm temperatures, while minimum RH
readings drop to 15-24% over most elevations below 9000 feet
Sunday. Winds will mostly be from the east during the afternoon
and early evening hours both today and Sunday, with peak gusts up
to 15-20 mph across the plains. Isolated to scattered showers and
a few storms will be confined to the mountains along/west of the
Front Range in the afternoon and early evening hours each day.
Only spotty wetting rains (10% coverage) will occur.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday...
Unseasonably warm/hot weather will persist through Monday. High
temperatures will soar to around 100F over the plains and I-25
Corridor with humidity readings bottoming out near 14-20%.
Meanwhile, minimum RH will drop to 20-28% for the high country.
Fortunately light easterly breezes can be expected.
As the ridge slowly slides to the east through midweek, monsoonal
moisture will gradually increase with increasing coverage of
showers and storms with wetting rains. Wednesday and Thursday are
expected to have the greatest coverage with scattered if not
numerous showers and storms. It will only cool slightly, however,
with temperatures still averaging near or slightly above normal.
