.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Drier weather is expected today
with temperatures near or a little above normal. Elevated to near
critical fire weather conditions are possible along the Cheyenne
Ridge where wind gusts of 25-30 mph are forecast today. Breezy
conditions are also expected across most of the higher elevations,
but cooler temperatures should keep relative humidity above
critical thresholds. Weaker winds are expected over most of the
Denver metro and plains south of I-76. Very good to excellent
smoke dispersal is likely most of the afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...Elevated fire
weather conditions will be possible across the high mountain
valleys through most of the upcoming week with generally dry and
breezy conditions. Across the Front Range and plains, daily
chances for showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with moisture
remaining above 20% each afternoon. The best chance of wetting
rain will come Monday and Monday night across far eastern
Colorado, with generally a 10-20% CWR elsewhere. In general, at
least good smoke dispersal is forecast each afternoon.
