No fire weather concerns in the short-term forecast as scattered to numerous showers will develop this afternoon over the region. Higher elevations above 9 thousand feet will receive accumulating snowfall between 1-3 inches tonight. Rain showers are expected for lower elevations starting late afternoon through Saturday. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...A weather system will bring moisture and cooler temperatures to the forecast area for the weekend, with Saturday being the coolest day. Light rain showers are expected across the plains, while snow is expected to continue in the mountains through most of the weekend. The highest snowfall accumulations will be above 10,000 feet south of I-70, and the southern portion of the plains are expected see the most rainfall accumulations.
