.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Saturday...Snow is expected to redevelop
across the mountains tonight and become more widespread into
early Saturday morning. Moderate to heavy snowfall accumulations
are likely along and west of the continental divide. Winds are
also expected to increase overnight tonight, with gusts of 50-70
mph possible across the mountains through most of the day. Wind
gusts of 30-45 mph will also be possible across most of the plains
Saturday afternoon. Good to excellent smoke dispersal is forecast
during the day.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Wednesday...Light
snow over the mountains comes to an end Sunday, while breezy
conditions will continue. Northwest flow aloft will persist
through the upcoming week. This will bring breezy to windy
conditions most days to the higher terrain with periods of light
snowfall. East of the mountains will see windy periods as well.
This westerly downslope flow will bring dry conditions and a
warming trend next week.
