SUNDAY EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
After a foggy start to the day, temperatures will warm well above
normal with strong southerly winds. Gusts may reach 45 mph across
the plains. With lingering moisture, minimum relative humidity
will stay above 25 percent across the plains. Therefore, no
critical fire weather conditions are expected. Smoke dispersal
will be good to excellent across our forecast area.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...
Critical fire weather conditions are likely across most of the
area Sunday afternoon. There`s plenty of wind, with 30 to 40 mph
gusts expected, and humidities will drop into the 10 to 15% range
in most areas with 20-25% in the high mountains and northeast
corner. Fuel status varies as new grass has been growing and it`s
been moist the last couple of days.
On Monday, there will still be wind but humidities will be higher.
Near critical conditions are expected across the plains and in
South Park, with the worst conditions south of Limon. After that,
humidities are expected to be a little higher with less wind
through the middle of the week.
