.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...A cold front is currently
moving across the plains, with northerly wind gusts up to 35 mph.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight with
snow likely above 10,000 ft. On Tuesday, expect widespread
stratiform rain across the plains throughout the day. In addition,
snow levels may drop down to 9000 ft. Snow accumulations expected
to be between 3-8" on high mountain passes, with localized higher
amounts (12+") across the highest peaks.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Snow and
rain will gradually diminish late Tuesday evening. Warmer and
drier conditions are expected by Wednesday as an upper level ridge
builds over the area. Relative humidity values could reach as low
as 15% on Thursday and Friday. However, winds should remain light
through Saturday.
