.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...Strong west winds will
continue through the remainder of the afternoon, just gradually
diminishing this evening. Lowest humidities along the I-25
corridor are right around 20 percent, but should see quick
improvement through the evening hours. Snow across the northern
mountains will persist, though also diminish during the evening
hours. A front moving across the plains will bring cooler
temperatures to northern Colorado Thursday, with some spotty
near-critical fire weather conditions possible in the afternoon
over the lower elevations.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday...Very
strong flow aloft will cover the forecast area much of the period.
Some of the windiness will make it down to the mountains,
especially on Friday and Friday night. A shot of decent snow is
expected in the mountains Friday night, with good chances of light
snow all weekend. There will be a chance of snow over the plains
Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will be warmer than
normal Thursday and Friday, but will cool off and be below normal
for the weekend. Smoke dispersal will be good and very good in the
mountains and foothills during the afternoon hours all four days
and over the plains on just Saturday and Sunday. Critical fire
weather conditions are not expected.
