.DISCUSSION...Tonight through Wednesday...Windy and dry
conditions will continue over the mountains, high valleys, and
foothills into early evening with gusts to 45 mph and relative
humidities in the 8-16 percent range. Winds decrease around sunset
as the airmass stabilizes. A cold front pushes south across
eastern Colorado this afternoon/evening, bringing a wind shift to
the north.
Cooler temperatures and higher humidities will prevail behind the
cold front along the foothills eastward across the plains. There
will not be much relief over the mountains and high valleys with
only a couple degrees of cooling. It will also be breezy Saturday
afternoon over the higher terrain with elevated to locally
critical fire weather conditions expected. Over eastern Colorado,
scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected during the
afternoon and continuing through Saturday night.
Sunday will cool a little more as an upper level trough moves
over the region. This will also improve relative humidities over
the area. It dries out for Monday and Tuesday, but winds are
expected to be on the lighter side.
