.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Saturday...
Light winds and clear skies will allow for sharp inversions
tonight in valley locations, but downslope breezes will mean mild
temperatures and poor to moderate humidity recovery in/near the
foothills. Well above normal temperatures and dry conditions can
be expected again on Saturday, although it will be several degrees
cooler on the plains behind a weak cold front. There will be a
slight bump in humidity levels, but minimums will still drop into
the 17-25% range over most of the plains with the lowest values
around the Denver metro and Palmer Divide. Winds will be
relatively light in most locations despite the weak frontal
passage. Poor smoke dispersal is anticipated in all but the
northern border area.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Wednesday...
Warm and dry weather will persist through most of Sunday. Showers
will then move into the mountains by Sunday night and continue
into Monday, with a few inches of snow likely above 9,000 feet.
The plains will see scattered but mostly light rain showers Sunday
night and Monday morning.
Breezy and cooler conditions can be expected by Monday. The
cooling trend will likely remain in tact through the middle of
next week with temperatures gradually returning to near normal
levels.
