URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...RED FLAG WARNING FOR LIGHTNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

.Scattered thunderstorms with abundant lightning will develop
this afternoon and evening across portions of southeast Oregon.
While some storms will produce wetting rainfall, areas outside of
thunderstorm cores will be especially susceptible to new starts.
Gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph are possible near storms.

A system will cause isolated to scattered thunderstorm
development to continue across southeast Oregon overnight into
Thursday morning. While storm coverage should be lower, storms
are expected to be drier. As the system lifts north, scattered
thunderstorms will expand across the entire area Thursday
afternoon into Thursday evening. Storms Thursday may also contain
brief heavy rain and gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph.

Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 2 PM Thursday to
midnight MDT Thursday night.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 400 Northern
  Boise BLM, 420 Treasure Valley BLM, 423 Owyhee Mountains, 424
  Western Twin Falls BLM and 426 Southern Highlands.

* TIMING...From 2 PM Thursday to midnight MDT Thursday night.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 60 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
