A low pressure system off the Pacific Northwest coast will keep gusty southerly winds at the burn site through this evening. Ridgetops will see gusty southwest winds, with winds channeling south to north through mountain valleys. Showers and possible thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon ahead of a cold front. The best chance for showers will be between 5PM and 11PM today with the thunderstorm threat ending by 8PM. Not expecting a wind shift with the overnight frontal passage though showers and thunderstorms could bring gusty and erratic winds through the evening. Snow levels will drop to 7500 feet by Saturday afternoon, but accumulating snow will remain above 8500 feet. Colder air arrives Saturday night, dropping snow levels to around 5000 feet MSL. Accumulation of up to 3 is expected Saturday night. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
