.DISCUSSION...
The hottest and driest conditions of the period will occur today,
while a push of monsoonal moisture brings high clouds and a
10-20% chance of showers and thunderstorms to areas south and west
of the Snake River Valley today. Most showers and thunderstorms
will have very little rainfall. Smoke will linger in area valleys
today and tomorrow until the inversion mixes out around 1200-1300
MDT. Light, terrain driven winds will occur the next several days,
except in stronger showers/thunderstorms where outflow wind gusts
up to 45 mph are possible. Isolated showers and thunderstorms
will continue tomorrow over the same area, with increased chances
of precipitation anticipated early next week.
