.DISCUSSION...
Hot, dry and unstable through Saturday, with temperatures peaking
in the high 90s to 100F. Northeast winds may become breezy this
evening over higher terrain near the Nevada border, otherwise
generally light and diurnally driven through the weekend. However,
thunderstorms with little rainfall become possible over
southeastern Oregon and near the Idaho-Nevada border from late
Saturday afternoon, which may lead to winds becoming erratic in
thunderstorm outflows and peak gusts to 40 mph. These
thunderstorms may persist overnight, then increase in chance with
showers pushing northwards into the region through Sunday morning
and afternoon. Monsoonal moisture then establishes from the early
week, with showers and thunderstorms expected to continue through
the week with a cooling and moistening trend.
